MikeB4: Forbidding the use of a microwave to heat pies should be officially made the 11th commandment.

Only works in a convection one. Those are really great for heating pies up as the microwave hits the filling and the elements make the pastry nice.

this is what Air Fryers were made for , Pies and reheating Pizza.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

When your computer generates a password, asks you if you want to save it and when it does, then does not reference it when you need to input the same login on a different site - and you also cannot for the life of you find what it has saved the password under either.

Looking at you, Apple.

Passwords are supposed to be site specific, if a site is presenting a different domain for a login and expecting the same password it is typically a phishing page so this is working by design. If a moron web developer has the password set on one site to use on another one, that fault lies with the web developer. Amazon and ebay seem to like to use their country specific domains for authentication too, which is the only legit sites I can think of where you would have this problem.

In this case, it was setting up a new NAS. The setup required the creation of the user name and password.

Then later, logging in is a different place altogether and so Safari does not tie the two together. I then had to read the entire password file to eventually find the dgdg^&&^$hnldwhsefhhfelh style password which was stored under the network address numbers as the title rather than anything useful like Synology..!

it has zero way to know they are the same thing. when you first login to the NAS you use its IP address which is what your password manager has saved the password under. you have then created the DDNS/quick connect name for the NAS. then tried to login to it. its a completely different website. your password manager has zero way to know its the same thing.

you need to go back in and re-save it as a separate entry or you need to add it as an alternative domain for the existing entry.

I'm shocked that a cafe would do that.  Even your local dodgy corner dairy has a pie warmer you can collect perfectly good hot pies from.

]

The corner dairy keeps their pies in a warmer - they are the $3-$4 Big Ben type.

The cafes with the $10-$15 pies keep them cool in a food cabinet since they don't want them being warm all day with no customers. Then they reheat on demand. If they pretend be higher class than use a turbo oven. Takes about 10 minutes with an infinitely better result.

I agree and disagree.

I do not need to go back in and spend my time faffing about - Apple need to design it so that I can change the name of what is being saved from the IP address to something sensible but you cannnot edit the titles.

You can do that very easily via Keychain

There seem to be more and more reported cases of bad actors getting into various systems and causing all sorts of havoc, such as planting malware or copying private data. Looking at the timeframes, I'm starting to believe that it's directly related to video rental places closing: the actors wouldn't have had to branch into hacking just to keep earning a living.

It's a fair cop, but society is to blame.

I'm annoyed today at the fact that going to see two clients in a day wipes out an entire working day! Madness.

Why some news articles have to say almost everything twice. They have some pointless Twiiter thing in a box and them have exactly the same thing in the text directly above it. And / or they tell you some bit of news and then some comment in quotes below it which again says exactly the same thing 'from the horses mouth' so to speak.

Impressive, but its important to note the differences between 'Police board Air NZ flight', 'Police boarded an Air New Zealand flight' and 'Police boarded my flight'.

Maybe there should be a thread, something big that annoys me!

For Wellington house owners - the way the Council snuck through a 16% rates increase passed with only 3 councilors voting against it. Perhaps the rest don't pay rates since they rent or some other living arrangement.

Because twitter embeds are frequently blocked by overzelous corporate networks that block social media so they have to do that so all the people reading at work have an idea whats going on.
