MikeB4:

We spent Kings weekend in Napier. We decided to go to the swimming pool on the shore front. There are three mobility parks in front of the pools and all three were taken up by vehicles without mobility parking permits displayed. The ignorance of these selfish muppets meant that I was unable to go swimming.

Park your vehicle behind them to block them in - then go for your swim.

And come back to a damaged vehicle. Aggression isn't an answer. Ideally, confront them and shame them, but of course that isn't always possible. They need to be made to understand that their transgression isn't minor, and really disadvantages someone else. Those parks are there for a purpose.

And then one of the car owners turns up in a wheelchair, he just didn't attach the tag properly and it fell to the floor when he slammed the door.

My neighbour uses a disability tag, his mind has been a bit erratic since the stroke and occasionally it doesn't get attached but that doesn't make him any less disabled.

I doubt that they would damage the blocking vehicle if they we were unable to get away.

The number of drivers who drive with their rear fog lights on. They are quite blinding especiallly at night.

We number of times we have fog where they are necessary isn't that often.

Parking in a disabled parking space is a pretty bad idea here in Germany, because the police drive out immediately and have the car towed away, and you can pick it up again at the other end of town after paying about 300€. And you also get penalty points for free.

Supermarkets.
I think some of the unhinged vitirol and ignorant comments are over the top but I can see why people get like that. surprise surprise after years of expensive butter, warehouse drops to $5 and every other supermarket now has one or more of its brands at $5 too. It's just as well we spent all that money on an investigation that everyone already knew the results of to turn around and so SFA about it anyway.

I hate the supermarket experience. I do everything I can to put it off as long as possible. They are thoroughly unpleasant places by every measure I can think of. They don't give a crap about their customers. I was going to write something about them here but was putting it off. Here is just one thing: The parking lots have sloping surfaces, especially at the new Countdown in our area. This makes it a hassle to unload a trolley into the car as the trolley keeps rolling away. An easy fix would be simple clamping brakes on the trolleys, as has been done elsewhere, but I guess that customer convenience is too much trouble. They invest god knows how much in building new mega stores but can't think of something as basic and useful as this. I hate everything about them.

When they put brakes on trollys, muppets will push them around with the brake on and make flatspots on the wheels while whining that the trolley is broken and hard to push.

Eva888: Now I feel guilty.

The comment wasn't meant to make anyone feel guilty, just pointing out that the vast majority of members of the public are considerate towards people with disabilities, typically going out of their way to help, so it's a bit risky to assume someone is being a d*khead, and treat them as such, without further evidence.

Admittedly if they are being a d*khead they deserve whatever they get... I bet they reincarnate as something really sucky

The Warehouse Online shopping experience is always so lousy these days!

If I ever do an order I always receive the dreaded "There is a delay with your order" message!

Which eventually morphs into "We cannot find it" and "EVENTUALLY you will get your money back! - once we have made some more free use of it!"

I called in as I was going past TWH Riccarton yesterday. Boy was it sad! Hardly any customers, lack of choice, lots of empty space etc.

It goes more downhill every time I have a look. (Online and Store)
