KiwiNZ: The use of a racist term in the Bridge Special in Burma clear and obvious and disgraceful

JC to one side for a moment ..... do you think Mike King is racist? Or Billy T, Billy C or hundreds of other brilliant comedians who have the skill to get us to laugh alongside and at each other?

I will ask you again KiwiNZ, because I am really trying to understand your logic in this interesting discussion - JC to one side for a moment ..... do you think Mike King is racist? Or Billy T, Billy C or hundreds of other brilliant comedians who have the skill to get us to laugh alongside and at each other?

Let it go. The joke is the discussion point.  Nobody here called JC a racist.

This may well breath new life into the show and give it a fresh perspective

When Sue Perkins was partnered with Charley Boorman driving some Alaskan pipeline road she took charge while macho man fluffed about.

I think their best bet is to kill the brand for a few years and let things die down. I personally think they had milked the top gear brand for all it was worth anyway.

No, not at all

I don't dislike Sue Perkins but this is the woman who stopped her car and was too scared to drive any further on the Dalton Highway because it was snowing too heavily.

Can't see her hammering down the test runway at 300kph+ in the latest supercar somehow.

This is all irrelevant anyway. TG was on it's last legs before this incident and, for the vast majority of petrolhead viewers, without Clarkson, Hammond and May it is finished. The final episode was last night.

My memory of that episode was that the trucks using the highway ran a virtual one way system via radio. If you couldn't get into that loop you could find a very large truck coming out of the snow straight at you. Her co driver didn't cope with the radio well.

Last night I finally watched the last episode off my recorder. I liked it - it was irreverent, fun and entertaining. Regardless of what you think of JC as a person, or whatever the BBC does to try and reincarnate the show, essentially there won't be any more Top Gear. Ever. Personally, I find that a bit sad. frown

It is just speculation that she is denying. Her CV includes more than cooking.

In 2011, Perkins featured in BBC travel adventure show World's Most Dangerous Roads: Alaska. She and Charley Boorman, her companion for the trip, drove the Dalton Highway.[27] She then appeared with Liza Tarbuck in Series 2 Episode 2 of World's Most Dangerous Roads: Ho Chi Minh Trail, shown in 2012, driving in Vietnam and Laos.

Clarkson has appeared on a few episodes of QI, that didn't make him a comedian.

That was one of the most annoying motoring programs I've ever seen. She made so many crazy\impulsive decisions. There was zero dynamic between them, you could feel the contempt. Awkward viewing!

Because they want to rename it 1st Gear!

Ooops, sorry! Couldn't resist a little chauvinistic humour.

She has done considerably more than that
