Retiree neighbors on the left, right and across the road. They don't store video for you to watch, but they do phone in.

I swear they would probably know if my house was on fire before I did.

It's called the Gold Card Guard System.

My system could be classified as a 'life-jacket' alarm.
Its still sitting in the box it came in. And if it wasn't under some stuff in the garage I'd dig it out for a photo

One hundred or so people each day (many of whom we know) walk down along driveway next to our house. I think that scares away potentially nasty people from lingering about. Some cameras could cover the less visible bits of the house!

Our security system is called "Poppy", unfortunately it is quite defective and will only activate when it feels like it. A bug in the system also allows unwanted visitors to bypass the security with literally any kind of food.

Here are our original security systems

and

however we did upgrade after we were burgled last year and the burglars drugged the original system surprised We now have more security in the form of

But as others have said a new camera system would be awesome if only to prove to the Police that dogs were in fact drugged and didn't show the burglars around the house.  (The original big dog is particularly aggressive towards men)

My mother has moved in - the alarm system from hell.... hell hath no fury like a woman who is retired, lives in the middle of nowhere and a broken leg.  I wouldn't want to be a burglar with her in the house......

Barely functional old alarm box and siren, completely outdated, old 80's style circuit board.
