Would love one of these units, I have used synology in the past for other people but my old nas unit died and I need to replace it.

Oh wow - very impressive! Almost makes me want to have a corporation to need All. The. Things!

Definitely something I need to get set up at home though.

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

Good to see them focusing on security, and the new hardware looks fantastic.

About a month ago I was deciding between this and a Terramaster option - I'm no further ahead on that but winning one solves that problem.....

I am a Synology NAS and Networking user for a number of years.  Have been super impressed with Synology products, their ease of use and intuitive interfaces.

On the Networking side I can't say how happy I am to see a WiFi6 router being introduced, also a number of their changes like the ability to create more than two wifi networks on the device has been badly missing for a while, but it's also great to see the feature is coming with a bit more thought like the ability to control traffic between networks.

On the NAS side, the release of DSM7 this year has been good, and the performance improvements Synology talk about have landed in real life and nice to see more features coming in 7.1 (even if most of them are probably more targeted to corporate customers)

It's nice to see some product innovation around the inclusion around cloud options.  Not sure it's something I personally would be looking for as our NAS unit was purchased to avoid cloud storage costs for things like photos, but I expect some customers would be interested in this, particularly if it's easy to operate like other Synology solutions.

I'm a NAS user but have not used a Synology product, yet. After watching the videos I'm certainly impressed by the products and services that Synology product offer. Others who have posted here seem to be overwhelmingly positive with their experiences of Synology products.
