NZ Post .... they suck these days. NZ Post had my package in their van yesterday for local delivery... but they didn't deliver, took it back to the depot instead.
The longest part of any delivery is when it gets into NZ post hands!
Oh don't tell me that when I'm waiting for a package today and took time off work for it!

Many tongues, many dialects it’s all part of the richness of language. I have my surname pronounced in many ways but the meaning is always the same.
How many different ways can one say B4?

MikeB4: Bigger surprise new Watch picked up Friday in Auckland and delivered Monday morning by Post Haste
Unrelated but paying for "Next day delivery" and "Saturday delivery" is almost a scam.
Many times I got items on Monday that had both "Next day delivery" and "Saturday delivery" paid for.

If the Commerce Commission had any teeth they'd be all over this. When NZ Post (or another such service provider) take your money to provide a service they need to provide that service or refund the cost. Using T&C to wiggle out and claim "best attempt" needs to be stomped on.
It seems to balance out though, when you don't pay for Saturday delivery and it turns up on Saturday anyway.

Saturday used to be special when shops were only open in the morning. Now, unfortunately, Saturday is just the sixth working day of the week.
1) Yet again, people not looking when they cross the road. This time they came out between some parked cars and stepped onto the road. I watched someone very nearly get splattered all over the place. It would life-changing for everyone involved, including me who would have been the witness, the person injured or killed and the person in the car who's fault it wouldn't have been, but the consequences likely would have stayed with them forever.
2) Water faults.
3) Watercare taking my fault report online, and not contacting me at all to update me on the issue, instead contacting my wife, who's details weren't provided, and she wasn't home so then required re-relaying updates.
4) Reporters 'reporting' on a potential tragedy, and making all sorts of unproven insinuations and attributing to malice what could just as easily and readily be explained with perfectly reasonable other reasons.
freitasm:Might be worth while calling the posties and enquiring as to why. Some areas simply cannot have an item despatched on a Friday for a Saturday or next day delivery. Knowing this will save you wasting your money. If you do ring and ask they'll likely advise that the service is "best effort".

As someone that used to send a lot of parcels out I had to learn quickly which customers of which areas I was wasting both my time and theirs with the additional stickers or services. Paying extra a for next day or Saturday service for deliveries to RD addresses gives the drivers a good laugh.
