Something's preventing it, but it ain't the browser! It's pretty disingenuous for Sony to make a comment like that, especially since the content flashed up for a second or so before the JavaScript came along and threw its toys out of the cot.

Handsomedan:

Reading the article this morning, it appears that they attempted to deflect from their failings by posting online that the vocal customers demanding their money back had been a cncerted effort to ruin the business.

It seems that the perpetrator of the alleged fraud is wholly unrepentant.

Isn't using client funds to speculate on crypto fraudulent? SFO looking?

Yes and yes

I guess this is something small.

Lost my 4G Nexus Tablet on a domestic flight. I've had the tablet almost a decade and it's a wee trooper. I travel during the week, so mostly use it at restaurants and have apps and notifications on that, that I don't want on my phone. I dine on my own, and it fits in my pants pocket.

I fly six times a month so it was inevitable I would leave it on there. Anyway, no sign of it, I emailed and filled in the online form and got no response.

Anyway, I wanted a new phone, LG stopped making them so it forced me to look elsewhere. Anyway there was a good deal but I needed to commit to 24 months. Fine, I'd been on a grandfathered plan for a decade, was more than happy with it, had a SIM partnered to my account so I split my data 50/50 with the tablet so figured a new plan that was roughly the same would be great.

Anyway, to get the new phone, needed a new plan, and I'd cancelled my SIM for the tablet as Find my Android wasn't going to work as it was in flight mode, and pin protected.

New phone, new plan. Anyway, I kept calling the airline lost baggage department and was not able to get through. Eventually I went into the airport and asked. I spoke with someone who couldn't have been less helpful if they'd tried, said did you fill in the form? I said yes, but I got no response, they said, well what do you think that means? I replied, I don't know, I tried calling, and emailing and eventually it was more effective to drive to the airport, park and walk in.

Three months later, another airport calls to say they have my dear old tablet. Hooray!! However I've since found out that a companion SIM doesn't seem to be a thing anymore and it needs to be it's own plan which isn't that far off what I pay for my actual phone plan. Having a Wifi tablet has meant I haven't really used it.

There, multiple rants!

Calling the insurance for an update on our two existing claims - one of which is a broken shower and is fairly urgent.

It takes over a minute to click through the various menu items to finally get to the point that you are on hold for up to 3 hours.

It's even more annoying when you get an incoming call that you absolutely must take and end up dropping out of the hold queue an hour into your wait.
I need a burner phone for making these calls - one that won't be called into, so I can leave it on hold for hours and not worry about being disconnected.

If you've got a land line, run a SIP soft phone on your PC and just have it running in the background while you work until they pick up.

The good news is the wait wasn't as long as usual and I got someone who was helpful.

Inconsiderate drivers in Auckland (and NZ in general).

I almost always make a gap for someone in traffic if it's appropriate. If I see a kid trying to cross the road, I'll stop and wave them through so I know they are safe.

The number of times a week when I am looking for a gap, and there is no reason not to let me in (traffic is already stopped etc), and people will deliberately prevent you access or just pretend to ignore you is horrible.

I've taken to just making room now.

It costs so little to be courteous, at worst a few minutes of your day....

It can be quite frustrating if you make a gap and someone isn't paying attention though :)

I'm with you. My commute across town is about 55mins in the morning and 75mins in the evening. I try to pass the time with a podcast or new music but that gets boring pretty quickly. My new game to pass the time is to see how many times I can be "thanked" via a flash of the hazards for being courteous to fellow drivers. Whether I'm in a rush or not it makes no difference to the time it takes me to get home so may as well allow plenty of space for others to join the queue.

I try to reciprocate, when its earned but sadly I never seem to give out as many thanks as I receive.

My hate is when someone turns their indicator on to move lane, so you back off to give room and they turn it off and dont move, so you accelerate and they then turn the indicator back on again as you are closing the gap up. 2 goes of that and not taking it and then screw you your not getting infront of me.

Also, often the person seeking the gap is an a-hat that has chosen the wrong lane to gain a few places intentionally. If I see someone get in from a sidestreet or driveway I will let them into the non T3 lane, but if they are in the T3 and indicating and it looks like they drove a long way in it. Screw you, you can stay there and get the fine.

Is that why people are flashing them? I thought that was more of an F-you type thing. Shouldnt be doing it anyway.

Its a standard international practice, not just NZ. I've driven in AU, NZ, UK, IE, US and many countries across continental Europe and a quick double flash of the hazards is a standard for saying thanks for letting me in.

Yeah, I'll wait a short period for someone to take the gap and then fill it.

Re people trying to get ahead of the queue, that's a hard one. In bumper to bumper traffic, you can't see the road markings. I've made a mistake many many times assuming I can go down a lane and found I can't and have to make it across a lane or two. I am sure it looks like I am queue jumping, but I am not. I tend to just give the benefit of the doubt in that situation, at the end of the day, the number of times it's a legitimate ahole, vs just a really stressed out person who made an error, means I am not losing much to make room regardless.

I will deny this if ever asked by HR but a team member of mine (direct report) and I commute home by the same route for half the distance. Not far from the office there is a left turn intersection that often has a 1km queue to get through. He has admitted to me that he often skips the queue and forces his way across closer to the lights. I know what car he drives and on the occasions where I've witnessed his queue jumping antics I may have sent him a little more urgent work the next day.

I'm not proud, but perhaps this post should be in the "things that make me smile" thread.

I think a lot of the blame is the idiot lights in mirrors and people thinking that they mean they cant move over.
