Seems One/Voda only have one (no pun intended) song on their helldesk hold now - Chateau by Angus and Julia Stone. Whoever they may be (Shazam'd it).
Went to the supermarket last night on the way home from the movies. It was 8.30(ish) and they're open until 10pm.
Got half a trolley of goods, as we needed quite a bit of stuff.
Not a ingle checkout open. Had to do the self-scan thing, whilst trying to balance all the items in the scale/shelf after scanning. Kept getting the whole "please place the item in the bagging area" alert. One staff member there (clearly for checking ID for booze, or preventing theft), who didn't even glance in our direction.
This was a Countdown. We were paying a premium for our goods and if we hadn't needed them so badly (milk, bread, TP etc) I actually would have just left everything there and walked out.
Complete lack of service, not a single sh!t to give about the customers and still charging through the nose. Disgusting, monopolistic behaviour as you'd expect from them, I guess.

Make a complaint. I did with my local new world, things improved.

Countdown is the worst supermarket in the country for this kind of thing. I encounter it all the time in Hastings and have complained in the past. I only go there for things I can't find elsewhere.

Trademe on a tablet/phone allows you to select custom price ranges, but on PC, it doesn't.
WHY!?
I have just dont my monthly credit card bill check and discovered my son has racked up just under $3000 on in game purchases. This falls well outside the "something small" category naturally. My bad for leaving my credit card on his PS account, I never assumed he would buy stuff without asking. Parental fail moment.
But it was mainly on 'loot box' style purchases. I am annoyed that gaming companies target young kids for what is effectively gambling. The sports games they buy are targeted at young kids but you need to buy and open player packs to get a decent side if you want to win.
Lessons all round.
That's going to take a bit of paying back on his behalf. Might be a very good long term life lesson for him.

Contact Sony in the first instance. Get calm first. :)
In my opinion there should be a hard limit of $500 expenditure appled by Sony to purchases. Requires additional verification after that.
I believe from talking to others with the same problem they have provided some relief in cases like this.

I think suppliers of checkouts also supply road cones. Lots of checkouts at exits mostly for decoration, lots of road cones at road works, mostly for decoration....

$400million to change the colour scheme.
Still, as long as they don't use the money to cut prices, thats the main thing.
OK, some stuff gets done / replaced anyway, just a different colour, but still...

Countdown rebranding (again). That cost will be worn by the already overpaying public. Considering it was Woolworths previously.
I'd rather they spent that money providing more check out operators!!

Don't you mean "A" Checkout Operator?🙃

Employ more. Pay them more. Or just stop putting up prices and then having a sale which just puts it back to the old price.
Heck, I'd be happy if they paid Billy Connolly / Arnie / (sadly more difficult) Severus Snape to record that, erm, flipping 'unexpected item in the checking area' message.
