NZH headline: ‘Auckland Council liquidating anti-1080 charity’.

Apparently they’ve passed a resolution to support 4K and Dolby Vision.

Either they read this forum or they noticed it, since it now reads Hūnua 1080 drop: Auckland Council liquidating Friends of Sherwood Trust over legal challenge.

Presumably they're putting poison in their tea.

Handsomedan:

Handle9: Six60 are coming to Dubai for a week during expo.

I've just never quite understood the popularity of 660.

They're mild and innoffensive, OK for background music, but I just can't imagine packing a stadium to see them.

With that said, I am sure that many would say the same about some acts that I am a massive fan of.

Wow, I thought I was the only person who wasn't a massive fan of them in NZ. I agree with your sentiment. I don't have an issue with them as such, just don't see what all the fuss is about.

But then I don't like Lorde either :)

Do you have a link? Could be the mobile version, a different headline for readers with 30-second attention spans vs. the desktop version, the full thing :-).

This made me stupidly happy. I'm still smiling about it 24 hours later.

I bought some Balsamic Vinegar in Italy. It's the real deal, really something special. I have been using it sparingly but I have reached my last 50ml or so. Grabbed the bottle in hope perhaps I could buy some online, that some enterprising foodie had imported. Nope. Not a sausage. Started looking for alternatives, but feeling a bit bummed. Went into the cupboard later in the day for something else, and low and behold, right at the back, behind something else, an identical unopened bottle of the same stuff. I recall now, at the time thinking it was so good, and quite rare, I should buy two (to my wifes horror).

Here is the link - and yes, I suspect that the headline showing in my image above shows up on iPad because it’s the mobile version. When you open the link on iPad, the story shows up with a fuller headline.

Note however that I see that abbreviated headline on the NZH website on iPad, not via the NZH app.

Watching the New Zealand Army Band play Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, accompanied by the light guns of 16 Field Regiment, at Pukeahu this evening. What an amazing performance, and the guns firing absolutely tops it off.

That typing "dumbest" into the Edge address bar autocompletes to "dumbest stuff herald" and leads to Geekzone. I suspect that this is user-specific but it still made me laugh!

I have been working some longer hours lately, starting earlier and getting home later. I showered and was down stairs making lunch for the kids at 6:45am this morning, and my son pads in. I ask him why he's up. He set his alarm so he could get up earlier because he thought I might be lonely eating breakfast on my own. Damn it's dusty in here.

The self-satisfied smug look on Himself's face when he's undressing and flicks his undies up in the air with his foot and catches them in his hand.

One of my staff announcing her pregnancy to me...and while that did make me smile, it was the real and genuine joy on one of my (leadership team) colleagues' face when I told him...he knows her well and was so completely genuinely pleased for her, it was heart-warming.

I'm going to wager almost every man on these forums will be able to relate to this :)

Whether they admit it or not, that's something different :)
