BNZ..why...????
I get given a business card for my "person banker", it contains he local phone number.
BUT all it does it tell you that it is not monitored so do not leave a message, and go to their 0800 number
Why the heck do you even put the local number on the business card, it is 100% useless.
Captcha tests of any form. Make me want to throw my keyboard at the monitor.
I just hate these #%&* things. I can't imagine how bad they are for people with bad eyesight.
Funny you should say that: I contacted customer service for a company today and asked them to do something I should be able to do via self-service... because I'd had about six pages of "click the traffic lights" and had had enough!

This is why I left BNZ after several decades as a customer. Kiwibank has several defects but I'll say one thing for them: in the 5 years I've been with them I've had the same bank manager, I have his phone number which he does actually answer, and he knows who I am on the rare occasion I call him. That's gold in my book.
The big banks offer private banking services where you do get an actual real person that persists as your contact point and who is supposed to know you and your account. However that is reserved for people with high net worth and income - e.g. >$1mil in investments (not home) and >$250k income.

That's the opposite of our experience. I can't wait to get away from them ASAP.
It started well, we had an awesome first few people dealing with us. Now every interaction is painful beyond belief.

That's because they really don't want you calling direct and want to filter all calls through the call centre. They just want to create that facade of providing a personal service.

Yeah, could be our experiences are just luck as much as anything. If our guy moved on it could all easily go to hell in a handbasket.
Took son to a follow-up appointment at North Shore Hospital.
We were running late due to typical Auckland traffic, so tried calling them from the car. Used the "if you know the extension" prompt - got cut off. 3 times.
By the time we got there, in somewhat of a panic, they informed us they were running about half an hour late.

Seems to me that they could provide a website with the status of their outpatient appointments.
Likewise GPs.

Could be a static page:
"Running Late"

You have no idea how technology illiterate GPs are... many of the older ones still rely on paper records
They are also grossly under resourced so frills is out of the question.

This really freaking annoys me. I have an account issue where if I try to place an uber eats order with a $10 credit as part of the payment, I won't go through. After a week, I just got a list of things to try including turning off Bluetooth because it causes interference!
The rest of the suggestions were equally inane, but that was the worst I've seen in a good long time.
