My rental car. I'm sorry if you own one, but I've got an MG HS AWD for the week and I've never wanted to go back and change cars so badly. I get about 25ish rentals per year so spend a lot of time in different cars.

It's just so weird. Random beeps (assume it's radar related) with no info to say why it's beeping.

Cannot change the air con when on a phone call (as there are only three dedicated buttons) the rest is done via the screen, which is inaccessible while using Android Auto. Central screens changing from what they were on when last used, a really aggressive lane departure system, which cannot be switched off whilst moving, as again, it's in a menu available only on the touch screen. And it resets every time the car is switched off. I get in and out of the car maybe twenty times on a busy day. Lane departure is great on motorways, generally not marvelous anywhere else on our roads.

Pretty terrible fuel economy at 9.5L so far and I'm a closet hyper miler! And the throttle is super sensitive, it's like it has a tiny turbo that spools up to full boost by 2000 rpm, it's almost dangerous crawling in traffic, coupled with the fact it isn't fast beyond that.

Again, I'm really sorry if anyone owns one, maybe I've got a problematic one. But man, I can't wait for Friday!

And just to annoy you further, they'll give you another one next time. Because that is all they have available, as no-one else wanted one of them either!

Ha I hope not!! They're pretty good when you put a note on your account about not renting certain cars.

It astounds me that something as deadly as a vehicle can be designed in such a dangerous way.

Prime mucking me around with my subscription. Couldn't process last payment a few days ago and now given me the chop.

Go to reactivate it and more hoops... not exactly sure what country it thinks I'm in 🙄

Ah yes, the joint benefits of fine British automotive design mated to fine Chinese automotive design.

You may be in New Zealand, but what it is saying is the card would not be issued by a New Zealand bank.

Car companies from developed countries with a supposed rule of law have been very happy to be criminal conspirators. I'm barely even surprised.

I'm guessing that in this case the only remaining vestige of fine British automotive heritage is in the design of the badge.

My Dad loved the British car industry especially the British Leyland era. When he changed profession from being a watchmaker to an auto engineer(due failing eyesight) the British made vehicles kept busily employed for years, was very lucrative.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Erm Rolls, Jaguar, Rover (see SD1), Morgan, Lotus, Triumph (see TR8), Aston Martin.

OK, so not British any more. OK, unreliable, rusty, but sh!tboxes, thats a bit strong...

Windows.

How difficult can it be for a PC to find a laptop on the same network in the same house.

Oh sorry the troubleshooter can see/find it but it can't actually communicate with it and can't even say maybe try this or this...

This used to be a common problem back in the windows 7 days, but, I find network discovery works pretty well these days.

If you're running windows machines, check that the network profile is set to private. It defaults to public when installing windows, which is probably a good idea for the 95% of people who don't really know what settings they should use.

Of course, there's a million other reasons why network discovery might fail.

I certainly have no idea about settings. I've googled how to fix, tried a few, but just can't be bothered (til I have another go in a weeks time anyway).

Please tell ne more about the private network profile thing. I've seen some network settings where it gives, Private Network, Public Network, All Networks (plus settings) and almost everything is turned on, but still nothing.

It is though, and has been used on Prime for 18 months. Managed to re-join after changing /se/ in the url to /nz/. Luckily the profiles/watchlists are intact.
