Handsomedan:

Trying to work from home when my home office is the main way from the house to the garage, where the laundry is located and my wife is off work today.

My wife is off work today and she's mooching about and trying to talk to me and she's very nice, but I AM TRYING TO WORK.

I've tried noise cancelling headphones, but then she just comes in and gets my attention to ask me the millionth question.

I think I might go into the office.

My current project is 99% WFH with occasional get-togethers. Despite all the advantages (zero commute) I am not loving it for similar reasons.

Trying to order one of these from Kmart.

Their store stock levels only seem to update periodically, not real time and it keeps going in and out of stock online for ordering. They will then refund you instead of waiting till they have one available to send to you

From the end of next week, both of my teens will be home, as one has study leave and the other is on mid-term break.

I love them, but I'll be working from the office.

One at a time, not just one.

That's actually pretty cool, might get one too to replace the frayed-cord one I tossed some years ago. Mmmm, melty cheese with pineapple...

It looks like a great design, actually.

Yeah, just one big pan for a whole slice of toast rather than that idiotic diagonal-bar arrangement most have where the filling gets squeezed out the sides.

Good luck with that. The guy at kmart yesterday said they cant keep them in stock. Same for the other small cooking appliances.

You probably already have one. An "air fryer" is a fan oven, just sat on a benchtop.

I don't like them. Things stick unless you keep moving them around as there is no turbulence like with a real fryer, they stick to the basket and the crumbs get pulled off squid rings etc, baskets are not dishwasher safe so have to wash it like a caveman and the result isn't as nice.

Better results spreading things out on a tray in the oven and cooking things that way.

Don't have a benchtop one... but have a wall oven that has a fan mode. Awful thing. Smeg. Worst user interface I've ever seen on an appliance.

Is it worse than the Baumatic we've got? It's so bad that the only way to use it is to ignore all the controls and settings (apart from temperature set and fan mode) and do everything else manually.

We just got one. It's been excellent on the two occasions we have used it this week.
Got a large one. It's not that large.

On the Smeg we just randomly wiggle the buttons and levers until it seems to be doing what we want. There are no useful hieroglyphs to guide you, just obscure symbols. The user manual is Dan Brown's "Da Vinci Code".
