I'm guessing it didn't have as much as 2MB of memory. My first 386 had that much memory :)

My bad. I'm sure it was more like 2 KB.

You look at a list of the top 10 Instagram accounts and realise you've never even heard of 6 of the people...!

...and they all look like your grandkids.

At least I don't have to suffer that kind of reminder very often.

One of my weirdest thoughts is that, if my life had followed an identical pattern to my father's, I would have a 20 year old child now.

That seems so bizarre it does my head in!

10kHz-30MHz & 60-260MHz possible, for me mainly WX and Aviation (the latter not allowed to forward to the public by law) and some SWL.

You realise that in five years, you'll have reached the same age that Julius Caesar did and that in comparison to what he achieved, your life has been a panoply of underachievement.

There's no adventure left in the world - we are expect to be nice to everyone instead of marching in and taking over. It's dull. I feel robbed, really - like I was born 100 years too late.

So, I have custody of my grand daughter, 14yo. We go to BP each Friday so I can ATM her pocket money and buy Friday lunch. The server gal, about my age, says good on Dad for "making" lunch. I feel good....
