I have a cat that pees everywhere. That is nothing small but what annoys me is the enzyme cleaner to neutralise the odour. I have found a couple of brands and they both have pump spray nozzles on the top that only work horizontally. One is actually advertised as a carpet cleaner but you can't aim it at the carpet because this causes the spray pump to stop working since the liquid doesn't change angle and the pump starts sucking air. Who designs these things?

Yep!

Have you trued Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) that seems to go to to removing odour after you clean the carpet

Only works on fresh stains. Sometimes I don't discover his deposits right away. It's a big house.

I bought a Panasonic TV, TH-32JS610Z 32 inch a year ago for spare bedroom.

It has Android TV.

Why is Android so slow on a TV, but so quick on a smart phone? It takes 40 seconds to boot. I've got it directly connected to a wired Ethernet connection, and disabled wifi. There's no additional apps installed. I've made sure the O/S is updated (which wasn't easy, buried under three sub-menus)

For the first few minutes after booting, I feel like I'm living in slow motion every time I press a button. Then it starts acting somewhat reasonable.

I thought maybe the original alkaline batteries were dead, but nope replaced them with newly charged batteries.

I thought maybe the IR receiver was very directional, or distance sensitive, but Google Talk works fine. (Microphone is on the remote)

When I used the power button it took me multiple attempts to turn off the TV! But when I use the Google talk button on the remote, and say "power down" it's instant . Aaaaah!

And the speakers are just the worst.

I'm giving it to a charity, because I don't need this much frustration. God have mercy on their souls.

I also have the misfortune of a Panasonic Android TV. I don't use the "smarts" (not connected to the network) and it's slow and buggy. As you've noticed, the remote is glacial, and it also loves to randomly forget that external speakers are plugged in. I've grizzled about it in this thread in the past.

I got a $500 gift card from PBTech, so I'm still getting rid of it.

If I can look a gift horse in the mouth, don't give anyone a PBTech gift card
  • it expires in a year
  • it can't be exchanged for cash
  • there's no discount (that I could see)
See Parliament.nz: Fair Trading (Gift Card Expiry) Amendment Bill

"Many New Zealanders use gift cards as a welcome and convenient gift option, but, as many gift cards have an expiry date of 12 months or less, 1 in 5 recipients lose out because they don’t redeem the full value before the card has expired.

This provides for a windfall for the retailer, as they keep any remaining money.

This Bill seeks to prohibit the selling of gift cards with an expiry date of less than 3 years after the initial sale date, giving the recipient a more reasonable period in which to redeem its full value."

I Fixed My Android TV!

Android TV sucks. If you are an Android TV user, you'd know that Android TV has sluggish performance, spammy recommendations and bloatware. Well, in this video, I am going to show you how I fixed all of these Android TV issues.

The reason? A smart phone has a much bigger processor.

Workaround...

1. Order something with your gift card.

2. Cancel your order (changed your mind).

3. They'll ask how you want the money credited (cash to your bank account won't be an option).

4. Ask for store credit applied against your account.

5. Store credit doesn't expire.

It was a gift. I'll use it at some point to buy a new TV. I've got a calendrer reminder not to forget it, because I don't want to give PBTech a $500 donation.

From the PB Tech website, with the sub-title "Valid for 1 Year from Date of Purchase - Not Redeemable for Cash"

Gift cards Terms and Conditions
  • Not transferable or redeemable for cash

  • The card will not be re-issued if lost or stolen

  • Expires after 1 year from date of issue or last activity on the account

I have a similar Panasonic TV (it's actually a rebranded TCL), fixed it with an Apple TV.

I don’t think there’s any cure for cat pee. That stuff is nasty and would have to be up there in landlords’ worst nightmares. Frequently means carpet removal and remedial work on floor boards.

Prevention in the first place on the other hand is dead-simple.

In premise? Do they mean premises? A premise is an assumption.

Add to that use of "yourself" instead of you and "how was your guys meal/drink/sandwich etc".
