Aramex....no rush then.

In Premise - Your parcel is being processed within our delivery Regional Franchise. Depot Palmerston North Date/time 10/01/2024

In premise? Do they mean premises? A premise is an assumption.

Exactly. It's an assumption - the premise is that your parcel should be on our premises. But it could be false too, and your parcel is lost.

Aramex was kind enough to tell me that they had "minor delays" of up to two days in my area. They then proceeded to take seven days to get a parcel from Auckland to Whakatane.

Can't remember the last time they brought anything on the day they said they would...

And yet saw them round here quite early Saturday morning.

I think the local guy is reliable, and the problem is with getting the packages to him in the first place.

Our local Aramex guy has (so far) been great - had a delivery from the Airpoints store come via them on Friday - we weren't in, but he noticed that our side door (ranchslider) was slightly open (with a metal bar in the track so it couldn't be opened right up) and he put it in there. Appreciated that (and not having to be carded). Other things via Aramex have arrived to us pretty quickly (though admittedly, slower than NZ Post and NZ Couriers).

There was also delays in the other area and also in between the areas, so when all the area delays are added up, your parcel arrived early.

This trend of putting buggy "AI" into too many things. I've just had unsolicited advice to use the "overlflow-wap" CSS property. It's actually called overflow-wrap.

On that vein, all these people posting AI-generated images, where there are crazy non-existent words, badly written numbers or letters and people in positions or limbs that couldn't possible exist.

So those 'goofs' that used to be posted about models growing an extra leg due to some guys efforts in Photoshop are now being automated ? Excellent...

The radio PS announcement I heard today.

“In New Zealand, emergencies can happen at any time and without warning”

Well, duh. That’s firstly exactly the case anywhere in the world and secondly, sort of the actual nature of an emergency…..

Now don't get all quibbly here! Someone really racked their brains for that wording! 😉

Passwords.

It was bad enough before. But in the age of Windows Hello and signing in with a 6-digit PIN, who can remember the unique password that they created 2 months and 3 weeks ago and have never used since? And which you have to enter so you can change it to something else that you won't use for another 3 months?

I think it's going to have to be Post-its again.

Bitwarden is great. But it won't do the Windows Login for you, will it?
