Web sites that, when you move the cursor off them to close them, pop up a dialog that forces you back to say that "No, actually, you don't want to sign up for their cursed email list"

The crushing machine between NZ and the UK, that seems to crush any parcel that is sent between the two countries.

The ones that pop up subscription windows or anything else that covers what I am reading after so many seconds annoy me at least as much. My solution is a javascript switch extension. One flick and the damned popovers are dead.

There is a discussion about this. Different issuers, rates higher than before, rates higher than buying a card from the issuer (Travelex), less benefit than before, flawed site design, etc...

For me one of the things i miss most is the instant email notification of a transaction that I used to get when BNZ was running it.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Food companies that downsize their product size.  eg for 300gms, down to 250gms. Sometimes they also reduce the price a bit, but it often ends up going back to the price it was for the larger product. I presume it also messes with NZs inflation figures, as it is essentially a price increase, but because the size is decreased, the product price doesn't (usually) go up. I would far rather the price increased.

MikeB4: We were in the Wairarapa on Saturday looking at property, my wife passed a car doing around 80kmh on a fine day. Couple of minutes later the plonker passed us and immediately slowed to 80kmh. We decided not to play his childish game and stopped for coffee in Martinborough. Hate drivers who view the road as their sandpit.

I drove over from Wellington a couple of days ago.

I was followed by a perfectly civilised driver at a reasonable and sensible distance. Behind him was another car - some shonky old red jalopy that should have been scrapped a decade ago. We were doing 90-95 in gusty conditions, which was a reasonable and safe speed.

The red car ignored two safe passing places with passing lanes despite exhibiting typical "angry kiwi driver" behaviour.

10 minutes later, he passed the car behind me into the face of an oncoming vehicle which had to take evasive action. He then passed me when there were double solid yellow lines.

I beeped him to warn him that he was effectively attempting to commit suicide - so he gave me a one fingered salute.

Yesterday, I read that the penalty for being caught crossing double yellow lines when overtaking is....$150. Less than I spend on food in a week. Pathetic.

Any yet forgetting a pear in my sons backpack after a picnic in the USA the day before gets a $400 airport fine...and I wasn't even allowed to eat the most expensive pear I ever bought, twice over!

Being charged $125 "booking fee" by Air NZ to book flights that their own website does not allow you to book direct, but which exist and can be booked by ringing them and paying $125...!

Step-by-step instructions done as a video.

Written text with clear diagrams is so much easier.  You don't have to pause it, and don't even get me started on trying to rewind to find something.

Yes - that is the worst. I declare everything, even if I know it is fine - that way, if they let it in, it ain't my fault!

It's odd when you think of all the places in the world where plant seeds, insects, animals and so forth just cross borders willy nilly, combined with the fact that they are concerned about 'protecting' things which are all in fact imported flora and fauna in the first place. Ironic, really.

I was curious about the name of a character in something I'm watching, so I intended to carefully search Google for "[character] name etymology". I get as far as entering the character name and Google decides to autocomplete "[character] [does thing which is a spoiler]".
