Well, we have the benefit that things can't get here willy nilly, so we might as well take advantage of it.

How are our plants and birds and bats "imported"? Many of the flora and fauna being protected have been indigenous to NZ to tens of thousands of years. Many of the species have evolved in NZ, and have never been found overseas.

Commercial forestry trees

Cats

Dogs

Trout

Salmon

And so on. NZ primary industry is built on imported flora and fauna.

Adverts where the business owner appears, thinks they have a good TV personality but in fact make their brand look cheap and tacky.

Right. Nevertheless, if we can keep out diseases, we gain an economic advantage. e.g. foot and mouth, to choose an extreme example, but the advantage still applies to less virulent diseases. Equally, if we can keep out other plant or animal species, they won't displace our own natives.

I don't know if it's a small thing or not, but I hate it when children appear in commercials (and are the main actors) that are advertising for products for adults. For example, a kid asking Santa Claus for a car (on behalf of their parents).

Buy two identical burgers, swap buns around, give him burger with two top buns.

Eating pies upside down can be a good idea - especially if the base is a bit soggy and the filling hot and runny.

Yep - and especially when the kids are precocious &/or shout &/or are cheeky to their patents.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

on a similar note, ever noticed how kids will eat a piece of bread or a cracker upside down? the pick it up and turn it upside down. I think they are cunning they are preparing for the inevitable dropping of it so it lands Jam side down on the carpet to cause maximum mess. The process they use seems planned and I definitely think its a world wide effort.

Wonder what kiwi tastes like ?

If kiwi were farmed like chicken, they wouldn't be endangered, and the eggs would make awesome omelettes - the eggs are huge !!

Kiwi like dark places, so perfect for factory farming in dim sheds, you could even save on the lighting bills !

Now thats just not right, how the hell would we explain that to tourists, Kiwi's have Kiwi on the menu at Restaurants imagine the plunge in our tourist numbers
