I don't mind getting firewood, cutting kindling, lighting the fire, it makes me smile.  Genetic memory?  I don't care.  It changes the entire "feeling" of a room - not sure if that can be measured or why it matters if it could be.  It is what it is.

 

 

 

 

 

We get most of the benefits of a Fire with a Pellet Fireplace, but in the end, the continuous cranking of pellet prices, and the issues with how much noise they make as they get older, and the costs of maintenance and repairs, plus the fact a Heatpump cools in summer, made it hard to keep persisting with it.
