Geektastic: The persistent replacements my iPhone makes when swipe typing.

Pay is often replaced with post. And with AC, ABs and all sorts of other things. Random names I’ve never used even!

I’ve had Android phones before that get this right almost all the time; why my incredibly powerful iPhone 15 Pro Max cannot do it, I’ve no idea.

The wick brown fox jumped over the lazy for

Maddening.

I feel your angst. Mine is also bringing up stupid words as a replacement to a perfectly spelt word. Blue underline of the word and if you click on it, nonsense comes up as a replacement. IOS 15 was never like this. Seems they try too hard to fix what worked just fine in the past.

Mine Kris replacing and wife Ava.

(That was supposed to read ‘ Mine keeps replacing and with Ava’)

I don’t know anyone called Ava. There’s no reason for it to have ever encountered that word!!

My pet peeve with nonsense word replacement is when it fails to spot my nonsense (oft-repeated) and leaves it unchecked - e.g. "rhe" is left unchallenged (despite being nonsense) instead of automatically replacing it with "the" (one of the most common words, and surely the obvious replacement for "rhe".  Ditto for "th4".

I first tried the swipe text keyboard on the Galaxy Note 8 and it was fantastic.  When I went to iPhone 11 Pro, the swiping text experience was a big step down...

Half a Sunday lost to suddenly feeling absolutely dead tired for no reason. Has happened a few times recently, one occurrence knocked me out for three days with a headache prompting me to take a covid test. I keep wondering if it’s an immune reaction or just getting old.

Weird, I've had a similar thing, though without the headache. I wondered if it's allergies etc. Bloods all seem fine.

Perhaps you should pop down to your GP for a general check-up. Just in case something is amiss, it might be easily sorted :)

The persistent headache I am suffering as a reult of having to wear my old glasses with an out-of-date prescrition, while I wait two weeks for my replacements.

@networkn @MadEngineer Sleep Apnea could be the culprit.

Yeah, it's definitely something I suffer from, but unfortunately, it's below the threshold for anything to be done under public for it (took 2 years to get the appointment and report has been 6 months and waiting).

There is something going around that's not making RAT tests say covid but everyone seems to think that they have it. Tired, the shi7s, headache, sudden changes in energy levels.

Discovering that my chair has a lack of air in one tyre and when trying to inflate it the air would seem to be going out as fast as it is going in. Oh well my wife will fix it in jiffy when she gets hone tonight

Geektastic: The last Finish tablets we bought were in Polish packaging.

Was the last polish you bought in Finnish packaging?

That no Bike shop has less than a 2 week wait for repairs/maintenance and that bleeding brakes and derailer tuning is going to cost 1/8th of the cost of the Bike itself!

Seems a little pricey for an hours work and 200ml of mineral oil.

Is it something you'd consider learning to do yourself?  The cost of a brake bleeding kit would pay for itself very quickly at that rate.

Brakes are kind of a big deal, and if I screwed it up, I hate to think what the consequences could be. I am not opposed to trying it, but my FIL who is super into bikes (and does about 20,000KM a year on his bike) didn't want to have a crack and said it was better done by experts).

I'd strongly recommend going to a Doctor.  I had issues with feeling tired and lacking in energy; it was a symptom of the narrowing of the blood supply to my heart, which fortunately was picked up on by my GP and therefore treated before I suddenly and unexpectedly dropped dead.

(Yeah, confronting language deliberate - sorry/not sorry - please ensure you get yourself checked!)
