Presumably using some technology that doesn't rely on the bitumen not cooling too quickly, but I only know how it's done here. Given that Alaska is a Republican hotbed, maybe they lower the melting point of bitumen by voice vote while it's being laid.

(The reference there may be a bit obscure, someone once observed that "Congress thinks the laws of physics can be amended by voice vote", I can't find the original but here's a similar one:

At the end of the hearing, Democrat Congressman Markey wittily summed up the proceedings:

"Mr. Chairman, I rise in opposition to a bill that overturns the scientific finding that pollution is harming our people and our planet. However, I won’t physically rise, because I’m worried that Republicans will overturn the law of gravity, sending us floating about the room..."

Soon thereafter, the subcommittee passed the bill by voice vote, and the measure will next be sent to the full House Energy and Commerce Committee.

They won't, the corner by me was chip sealed about 3 years ago and had delaminated within 3 days of being laid down due to heavy traffic and a tight turning radius.

Complained multiple times. Finally had a downer supervisor come out and said they would never have recommended chip seal for that location due to the traffic volume and the above-mentioned heavy traffic. Said the council had skimped out and went with chip seal.

The funny thing the other side of the intersection had asphalt, and it looks like new, and it was installed 18 months earlier.

They did the same thing in another place, downhill, just before a speed bump, so everyone is breaking so its more pressure on the surface and its delaminated as well.

They seal straight pieces of road in asphalt which would easily be chip seal.

Not only that, but they are in bed with the contactors, or something for this kind of thing to happen over and over again.

Do you have a source or evidence to base your accusation of corruption on?

Or is it more likely that the self-entitled amongst us choose to ignore speed limits / "break" / accelerate hard on the surface before it has bedded in, thus damaging it and requiring the contractor to come back and resurface it?

Nope, but why do we not get a good job out of our money? why are the companies not held to account to remedy a poor job and why does it keep happening? something is happening in the council/transport agency/contractor for this to continue to happen.

100% not the case with the corner i mentioned, its heavy traffic driving the required speed turning on the fresh chip seal that caused it to delaminate. As for the downhill section, again its heavy traffic braking, the cars make little to no difference to it.

The fact that you can buy liquid electrical tape for a little over a dollar on Aliexpress while the same thing here is more like $30-$40. Even the dropshippers on TM overcharge for it.

I wonder whether I annoyed someone in the ads department at Google during the Wordle (or one of its knockoffs) craze by clicking "ad is inappropriate" on all the animated ads. The way I see it, things moving around are incredibly distracting and are inappropriate in the context of a puzzle... but I suspect that Google's intention for that option was "ad contains violence/nudity/bad language".
