The fact they can fly through the smallest gap to get in but can't fly back out through it. And ultimately it causes their own death

We got a fly trap plant. So far we have been feeding insects, looking forward to having the plant actually attract the damn things.

the budget one from countdown seems to , it has chemicals that the main ones used to have but dont anymore, the smell isnt great though.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Piperonyl Butoxide is the magic ingredient, no good without it. You get jesus flies - self resurrecters.

PBO acts as an insecticide synergist by inhibiting the natural defense mechanisms of the insect, the most important of which is the mixed-function oxidase system, (MFOs) also known as the cytochrome P-450 system. The MFO system is the primary route of detoxification in insects, and causes the oxidative breakdown of insecticides such as pyrethrins and the synthetic pyrethroids[6] - thus when PBO is added, higher insecticide levels remain in the insect to exercise their lethal effect.[7] An important consequence of this property is that, by enhancing the activity of a given insecticide, less may be used to achieve the same result.[3]

I've found that if you buy overseas when travelling (which I always do for use in accommodation), the products work really well here!

Best I had was one from Myanmar that killed everything I sprayed in seconds.

Had some fly trap plants. Fed them... very cool. They died.

Apparently they can't eat many insects.

On the other hand, I bought one that worked great overseas (in Singapore) but failed completely here - the plastic snake to frighten seagulls off the boat.

I was joking too but I have heard of people giving their plant a tiny piece of mince to show kids etc how it works and how long it takes to digest and re-open etc.
