The Pizza Hut website, I think it was, used to have an example phone number "021 123 4567" next to the field. If you enter it in that format then it complained that it wasn't a valid number (until you removed the spaces). They did eventually fix it, but it took a while!

This was the same site that used to have an icon of a £1 coin next to the "pay in store" option (it was eventually changed to $1).

What annoys me even more, is when you enter a phone number, birth date, etc - and the site says "not correct format" but doesn't give any indication what the correct format is. I have seen this a few times but can't remember on what sites.

None of that is anywhere near as annoying as $%^#* captcha images with ambiguous traffic light tiles that take 3 goes to solve.

The worse ones are the ones that force me to misidentify scooters as motorbikes, and have handlebars and stuff hanging into another square that is doubtful if you should choose it or not.

Outrageous! Misgendering scooters as motorbikes is culturally offensive to me, and possibly a Te Tiriti breach as well.

The "old and inferior" system had a Currency field type. The "new and improved" system only has Number (which is actually integer) and Text. Number is a no-go because people need to be able to put cents in there... and of course now that it's a Text field people are putting all sorts of nonsense in there.

Yes because it’s all about the method of mounting. With a scooter you just jump straight on and go for it - but with a bike it’s a matter of getting your leg over.

"No added sugar" means "a lot of water and non-sugar stuff removed"

Alternatively, "there's so much sugar in the product already (fruit juices are a prime example) that we couldn't figure out how to add any more ourselves".

Actually, fruit juices was the product I was thinking of... they concentrate the juice, keeping the sugar. I find diluting it with 1-2 times as much water makes it drinkable again.

Geektastic: Companies with automatic switchboards that have options like

For Roger press 1

For Susan press 2

For David press 3

What do I do if I’ve never spoken to anyone there and have no idea who does what?!

Just press Roger, tell him you are no longer speaking to Susan and ask him to pass it on to David.

Roger, roger. Get me a vector to Victor!

So the fiasco with my GP or at least their invoicing continues… they rang for my emailed request and said there was no attachment on my email. There most certainly was.

Detailing which charges are for who isn’t simple and will take time she says but further, one of the lines is supposed to have already been paid for. I challenged her on this by repeating what she said as a question to confirm but she said again this is going to take time to get all the details together.

Heaven forbid if I ask for a statement.

You have clearance, Clarence.

That was a stupid, stupid, great movie.

Not only that but they get rid of the skins, getting rid of all those nasty vitamins and minerals, and the fibre is also gone so what's left apart from water is mostly sugar (fructose).

Have you noticed that fruit juice has got more watered down? I like to drink 20/80% juice/water and recently I've had to add more juice due to being so thin. Another shrinkflation thing. #%#$%^

I regretfully gave up juices (and milk) both of which I loved. They are full of sugar.

I don't regret cutting back on starchy carbs like pasta, bread and potatoes but I do miss milk and juice (and sugary treats).

Cannot argue with losing 12Kg though.

Sugar is kinda nasty in any of its forms.

The unadulterated squeezed stuff has seasonal and source variations. The "made from reconstituted" ones can be made consistent. Or made thicker or thinner.

The idea that breakfast shows in radio end at 0900.

I rarely eat breakfast, but when I do it’s certainly not at such an uncivilised early hour as that!
