Knowing that I am a decade from retirement age (if things stay the same) and yet feeling like I am ready for retirement already. Every day.

Geektastic: The idea that breakfast shows in radio end at 0900.

I rarely eat breakfast, but when I do it’s certainly not at such an uncivilised early hour as that!

I’ve usually had my 2nd breakfast before 9am comes around.

People trying to hide behind heath and safety legislation to cover their incompetence and laziness.

My property manager, who shortly will no longer be my property manger, got work done without authorisation. She’s now trying to claim the work had been done as an urgent health and safety issue. Of course there is no paper trail to prove this, she knows she’s been caught out and is making stuff up.

They won't. There is too much upheaval for that. You can also see this in a positive light and take action.

Good morning. It's 0626 and I'm about to finish my breakfast. 😉

Amen. And on a related note. Why does every important ceremony in this country have to occur at dawn?

Luckily I'm not important and all these things can be ceremoned without me.

Having attended several dawn ceremonies with elderly veterans, I can only say that it would really, really help some of those guys if it was some time mid-morning, not in freezing cold half-darkness.

And a cup of tea and bikkies afterwards.

If you have your meal of the day at 7:30pm, what's it called? Technically it's breakfast, but it's also sort of dinner.

Asking for a friend.

I don't think I have ever been to a dawn service where the local RSA / Fire Station / working men's club hasn't had a cooked breakfast, tea, coffee and rum available afterwards.

It probably depends on the size of the ceremony, the main Auckland one would take quite a bit of catering.

This trend of meals having to have names annoys me. If you're hungry, have food. something to eat. If its 10pm and you want cocopops and silvertop milk, go for it. Just because people call that stuff breakfast cereal is just their idea of when they should have it.

Brunch? GTFO, it doesnt need a name. You are having food.

The joys of being an (alleged) adult.  You can choose to have whatever food you want, whenever you want.  You also know the consequences (if any) of your choices.  So yes, you absolutely can have cake for breakfast and cereal for dinner if you want to.  :-)

Clearly you don't live with my wife.

These sort of life choices are met with debate, criticism and analysis.
Net result = no breakfast for me at 10pm...
