Not a newspaper headline (not sure it would fit here though) but gave me a chuckle. Received an email from a food-oriented loyalty card...

"Special offers, member-only discounts, limited-edition experiences, exclusive tasings and early access tickets!"

I am not sure I want that benefit.

That’s shocking.

I believe in freedom of speech, but freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.

Ivan Ilin was stupid four times
  1. shortly after the Christchurch massacre, at work drew a Nazi symbol on the chest of his overalls, along with a tally of 15 marks.

  2. He said he was “joking around and meant nothing by it” and described it as a “silly mistake”.

  3. He was surprised he was fired

  4. He filed a personal grievance, claiming unjustifiable dismissal
If the company didn't fire him, I'd boycott the company, as I'm sure would many others.

Similar to the MyPillow CEO in the states who has crushed his company by espousing conspiracy theories and suggesting invoking martial law.

Again both individuals can freely speak their repugnant views openly, but expect financial consequences, whether you're a milk processing facility worker, or a billionaire CEO

Where’s the “Dumb Stuff Herald or Media in General Headline” associated with your post?

Or is it just soap boxing?

Edit: To be clear, I don’t disagree with you, I just think it doesn’t belong in this thread.

It's in all the newspaper, but if you need help finding one.

From the article:

At a further employment meeting on March 29, Ilin said he was not racist, his wife was Chinese, and he had friends from other ethnic backgrounds.

I've encountered this before, someone who's not a racist because they have Maori friends or is married to a Thai person, but then they quote neo-Nazi and white-supremacist ideology at you. It's an interesting conunudrum along the lines of @freitasm's "what do you call someone having dinner with ten Nazis" question, how do you class someone who treats people from other races well but at the same time believes in neo-Nazi race propaganda?

To be fair, that headline does not fit into this topic.

Yeah, I did feel it was veering off a bit... is there a more appropriate location to move it to?

Another one from the newspaper of the year - I didn't realise hotel rooms decayed daily like fresh cherries. What a shame it's premium content

And this just in, because drowning does not imply a fatal act when the subject is a person. They should have stuck with the headline that shows when you click it -- "Sudden death at Piha beach in West Auckland"

...and they lived happily ever after

Daily Star UK: Confused wife stabs husband thinking photos show him with other woman - but it's her

A wife flew into a jealous rage and stabbed her husband several times after thinking he cheated on her.

She saw photos of him with another woman, but it turned out to be a photo of her taken years ago, police have said.

...She was apprehended for wounding her husband 'Juan N' with a knife after discovering several photos on his cell phone.

The husband, who managed to take the knife from her, explained that the pictures were of them both back when they were more youthful and slim.

@kingdragonfly, not seeing what is dumb about this headline. This thread is about the newspaper/media making a mistake (i.e. something dumb) or similar, not them reporting (presumably accurately) on someone else doing something dumb.
