They produce one with 100% cocoa content.

Someone brought some 99% in to work a while back. I noticed its presence when I saw a cow-orker walk past trying to scrape the surface of his tongue off with his fingernails. Suitably forewarned, I took the tiniest flake of it I could possibly break off, maybe 1-2 grams.

I've never actually chewed a piece of charcoal before, but I now have a pretty good what it would taste like.

There are, but you aren't allowed any unless you cycle there so your moral superiority remains intact 🤣

its not the milk...its the sugar that I don't like in chocolate

Milk… sugar… all just subclasses of adulteration!

Since the price of cocoa beans has risen so much, Lindt has also been caught cheating with the ingredients. Lindt and Guylian are nothing special here.

Best is Swiss (correction: French) Company „Valrhona“ (for professionals, normally not directly available to the end consumer).

My preferred chocolate is 95% or higher

They produce one with 100% cocoa content.

Isn’t that “compressed cocoa” rather than chocolate then?

a) Trademe does not require "range" attribute for EV listings

I don't know, I'm not a chocolatier. Cocoa butter is also cocoa. It doesn't exactly look like a coal brickett. Ask them.

Because their costs have gone up for that day. On the slim margins they make then they need to.

Me...I think they should ALL be closed so people can have...what... 3.5 days a year to be with family.

Not everyone wants to be with family, or has a family to be with, or practises a religion that cares about Easter.

And if the margins are so slim, maybe they should consider another business. There is no 11th commandment stating 'thou shalt do others a favour by overcharging them to slurp bitter coffee and consume stale food at thine inn'.

There might be. Perhaps the rolled up papyrus merely awaits discovery in a cave somewhere…!🤣

My personal view is that it should be entirely up to a business whether it’s open or not.

I’ve been in Spar shops buying things on Christmas Day in the UK. The owners provided a service by being open.

So no public holidays...?

ALL businesses/employers/employees should take the opportunity to work, just like any other day....

I don't understand why you are so worked up about this. There are plenty of people without close family connections who are happy to work on public holidays. They even prefer it because of the benefits they get for working 'unsocial' hours. It should be a matter of choice but of course there should also be protection for those who choose not to work. I just don't see a problem with this.

So people want to get the "benefits" of working those days, but some self entitled customers object to paying for those higher costs....

And here I am knowing people who get rostered on those days, it's part of their contract, the one they "willingly" signed to get the job. And it always seems the ones "willing" to work are on minimum wages, very often in part time jobs, so the extra income is a requirement, not a choice.

Other countries have shops closed EVERY Sunday ....52 of them a year... and 3.5 days seems to be an issue here. I have holidayed in some of these countries. I have been in New York, went to B&H photographic ASAP because they were closing for a Jewish holiday the next day for a week or so.

I remember when Saturday morning shopping came into being, we were holidaying in Tokaanu and some of the shops in Turangi were open, went went to look out of curiosity, not because we were buying anything.

Meantime, I made an effort to buy some stuff I wanted on Thursday so I could play on my lathe over the weekend.

Every week I basically have the same $x a week to spend, shops can be open 24/7 365 days a year, I will not be spending any more money because of that, but it does put downward pressure on wages for those who are forced to work as it is one of the largest costs a business has. Why do you think that double/triple time has disappeared.

How is it "self entitled"? The business can charge extra if it wants, we just won't go there, and will go to a place that does not - because ultimately even if it's an extra $5,000 a day for them in costs, that averaged out across the entire year would move regular prices by what, a cent? The margins are not so razor thin as you like to claim.

I agree with @neb. We need a thread for "What's something small in the ""What's something small that really annoys you?"" thread that really annoys you?"

People claiming that if you don't have the same opinion as them you are self entitled or wrong. Definitely that.
