I've long known of Synology NAS solutions, but I was surprised to learn how many products & features Synology now offer.

It is interesting to see what innovating ideas that Synology is coming out with. It will be interesting to see what comes next in the future at this rate :)

I would love to win the NAS as I mostly rely on Cloud Backup through OneDrive at the moment, and have plex running through a computer connected to the network. Have had issues in the past with the computer going offline and no additional backup through RAID (especially affected me when the hdd failed once upon a time) so would love to upgrade my network and include the NAS if I won providing more security and backup of important stuff.

And yay, new badge :) :D

Was not aware of their routers, just their NASes, so expanded my knowledge.

It's definitely a shock to think NAS are more than just a box with some HDDs inside and can offer full blown services now. A NAS would be nice to store all those photos now that I've got a family as well as all the other crud scattered across internal drives on my PC.

C2 Password looks really interesting, I'm planning to give it a good go over the break to see if it can replace my current (far more expensive!) password manager.

Glad to see the videos were hosted on YouTube!  x1.25 playback speed FTW!  Phew! (in fact a few sections I even watched at x1.5 speed!)

Yay a badge! Even better would be to win a NAS (or other goodies!)

Currently our family's backups and music/photos sit on other PCs on the network which we turn on and off when needed. Much better to have them online all the time on a NAS!

Thanks for the opportunity to win! 🤠

p.s.  Also, was it just me, or were the questions the questionnaire a little awkwardly worded? There were several questions where the right answer wasn't as clear as it should have been due to the wording of the question.

Good to see that security is being taken seriously. Still some work to be done on the MAC front when it comes to back up but it sounds like it is coming in the near future. Being into photography it has always been a challenge to manage thousands and thousands of raw photographs. NAS has made it much easier to move from multiple external drives to a centralized solution in the home with RAID protection and cloud access. Hyper share is a neat feature mentioned as well. With a NAS and proper cloud backup you can easily manage to protect

I have an aging (i.e. old!) D-Link so it would be awesome to get something new and way more capable. I currently run fun_plug on my D-Link which allows me to customise the functionality somewhat but this would do all I currently do and more. Pretty excited to win! ;)

I've had a Synology NAS (a DS414slim) for many years at home serving multiple purposes - datastore for my VMware home lab, MariaDB for HomeAssistant, general storage, syslog, etc.

Although not the fastest, especially these days, it can still run DSM 7 and has been very reliable. It's also very quiet which is important in a home office.

I really like the clear product strategies that Synology has and the product selectors are very helpful.  A lot to digest in the new announcements but personally I'm very pleased to see the improvements in backup.

I'd love to upgrade my NAS to a newer model, especially one that supports SSD caching and that has just a bit more horsepower than my current one.  The existing one could then be re-purposed as an onsite backup.
