Did you try the other settings because I have had stupid euro stuff before where 1 was high and the big numbers were low.

Don't blame it on the Euro. What is really stupid is Americans still using imperil measurements (already cost them one satellite), taking temperatures on the ridiculous Fahrenheit scale, putting pounds of air pressure in their tyres, and writing the date backwards, which is really confusing.

Brexiteers tried to go down the same path, but consumers begged to differ.

FT: UK quietly drops Brexit law to return to imperial measurements

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

A Mothers day 'special' from the house wash company.. Really? I wonder how many people working at the Housewash Company geniunely think it's a good idea to give a housewash to their wife/mother!?

Haha, I thought the same about some of the products PB Tech are advertising in their Mother's Day sale.

Wasn't there something the other day, RNZ I think - unless your better half has really really really said she wants one, lawnmowers also not a good idea.

Anyway, useless Aramex, again. The latest parcel they haven't delivered they've had for 7 days, thats an average speed of 1.7km/hr. So far.

I had something supposedly sent to me at a rural address by Aramex. No sign of it anywhere. Fortunately the trader was exceptionally nice and sent me a second item by Post Courier, which did arrive without issue.

If anyone ever has need of anything related to gardening, I heartily recommend Rachel from Gardener's Emporium. She really went out of her way for me and was exceptionally helpful.

Behodar: I'm not sure whether to blame Apple or HP for that one.

It's HP's fault.  Anything bad that happens in regard to printing is always HP's fault.

I can't actually think of a worse piece of massively bloating, buggy, take-over-everything near-malware than the HP printing software.

Canons scanning software is right up there with sucking.

They are pretty dumb. You either have an argument over how you've over rated yourself or you penalise yourself when salary review comes. That only applies if it's actually linked to the salary review process which it probably isn't.

They're good for showing the "value" HR is adding though.

If I was handed one of those, I'd be noping right out of there. Alternatively I'd give myself a 10 on everything and let them work backwards on it.

I understand it's a common thing in larger orgs, but I hope we never move to them.

I gave myself a 12 out of 10.  Can't remember all the things I said but the phrase "God's gift to the IT profession" did come up at one point.

Used to have those when I was in banking/finance (retired 10 years ago). They’re a lip-service crock - the powers-that-be have already made up their minds what they think of you and no self-rating is going to change that.

Yeah, I am of the opinion, when it comes to this, that if you play silly games, you win silly prizes.

When the courier tracking says "delivered" but there's no sign of it.

I posted this on the 11th of March. Today, the 4th of May, Aramex has finally responded to the ticket (where "responded" equals "closed without comment"). Fortunately the package itself turned up more than seven weeks ago.
