Sovereign citizen jailed for disruptive behavior in court
https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350222874/sovereign-citizen-jailed-disruptive-behaviour-court

Regarding Megan Gordon, a sign you've made bad choices with your life when you're a Karen and the newspapers keep a file photo of you.

I'm sure it's part of a governmental conspiracy in her mind, but honestly she not that special.

This quote from Fargo season 5 applies to any sov-cit type:

Lorraine Lyon: "So you want freedom without responsibility? Son there's only one person on Earth who gets that deal."
Sheriff Roy Tillman: "The President?"
Lorraine Lyon: "A baby. You’re fighting for your right to be a baby."

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

I don't understand this level of lack of self control from a teacher.
Seems unsuited for any work with children.

Music teacher threw whiteboard markers and called kids ‘nut jobs’
https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/350224827/music-teacher-threw-whiteboard-markers-and-called-kids-nut-jobs

""
The witness said Vowell would get angry if he got a tune wrong while playing a keyboard in class, leading him to punch the keyboard.

She said he threw whiteboard markers and called students “retards”, “idiots”, and “nut jobs” during class and told them that they belonged in a special needs school.

Vowell told the Tribunal he had no recollection of snapping at students, slamming objects on tables, or shouting other than to be heard to give instructions.

Our Physics Teacher used to throw the duster at students.....right until he threw it at the student who was a baseball pitcher, it came back to him far faster and embedded its self into the blackboard.

To be clear those were the allegations. At this time the article does not mention specific findings other than the teacher was censured for not telling a subsequent school he was under some investigative process related to a previous school.

I'm old enough to remember when all that and more was daily teacher behaviour lol.

Definitely agree the alleged behaviour is completely unacceptable in 2024.

Bravo, one of my pet peeves is people who apply current day standards to prior periods and tut tut. (or worse)

There are things I said as a kid, I'd throw myself from a bridge rather than say or do now, but I wasn't a bad person then and hopefully, not one now.

Destiny Church paints over Gisborne’s rainbow crossing

Fun fact

Kids are far more likely to be sexually abused by people known to the victim, ie members of the family, friends of the family, neighbours, and people in position of authority (Priests, teachers, coaches, etc).

They are LESS likely to be abused by a drag queen reading them a story.

I am sure if someone did this to them and their church they would claim it is a hate crime, they are being persecuted ...hypocrites.

Bah. And the drag queen will probably read a book with disgusting themes like acceptance and tolerance which Destiny church finds alien.

Sounds like one of my music teachers. He was a bit fiery, people just put it down to artistic temperament and dealt with it.

Another thing that the article barely touches on is that he was trans, which must have made life especially difficult for him as a teacher - children can be so kind.

He should have known that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.  ;-)

Looks like fake Youtube video, but the stories been confirmed by the New York Times.

The fascist thugs have also hit Hastings. The reading has had to be cancelled because of the level and intensity of threats resulting from the lies spread into the community by the Tamaki zombies. Hastings mayor said they just couldn't risk it with children involved. 'Christian' blackmail triumphs again!

Reported by all major outlets but fact checking the BBC?

There were two pilots on board. The ship apparently lost power and sent a warning that it could hit the bridge. At this point the Baltimore authorities are saying there's no evidence that it was deliberate.
