The people who scoffed when it was suggested that moving all cars to electric in NZ wouldn't be possible due to lack of power infrastructure and generation.

What percentage of them happen to be petrosexuals who mention climate change & George Soros/Klaus Schwab in the same sentence?

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Arguing with people on the internet 🤦‍♀️ yes I know... if I'm doing that then I'm part of the problem too.

Some dummy on facebook thinks international security screening rules applies to domestic Jetstar NZ flights because all the domestic flights operate out of international airports. They posted the Australian rule that domestic flights operating out of international terminals are subject to international screening which is totally true. But not applicable to NZ. Even Jetstars own website acknowledges that NZ flights are from domestic terminals. Domestic flight so you don't have to worry about liquids and 100ml etc. She's doubling down despite the official websites saying the opposite. It's so unhelpful when someone is asking for help to have incorrect information out there that they're adamant is right.

The hell that is the wrong side of customs with the discovery that despite thinking you’ve got their stupid e gov app set up you’ve not, the customs officer telling you in broken English that you’ve got the wrong app with no help supplied so back to the line for you!

No one could answer the question of how people with no or flat phones get though.

Also a big foxtrotting uniform to the travel agency for not advising our small group to set it up in advance

Oh and it gets better: the country’s SIM registration process uses the same broken e gov process yet as a browser version. $8 per day roaming then!

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

Thought I'd check with Bunnings first, they weren't really aware of it until I pointed it out, they were unaware of the change, they're the same SKU and still labelled as grey, just incompatible with all other grey conduit and fittings in existence. What a totally idiotic thing to do, I can't go forward because all the new stuff is a different colour and can't go back because I've got a pile of existing stuff in grey, including items Deta don't make so I can't get them in the new colour.

And the only alternative is to pay the outrageous Marley tax, which takes a $30 purchase up to a $150 purchase.

What's the application? Any reason why the conduit isn't being painted the same colour as the wall?

I was going to say: "Because it's being buried underground" - but that's probably a step too far. OP may not appreciate the dig. 😀

In visible locations but where nothing is painted, eg under a wooden balcony. It's to protect outdoors cable runs from insects, moisture,...

I wonder how this affects professional installs where the off colour just screams "we used cheap Chinese junk where they couldn't even get the colour right?"

That all the little niggly problems we have mean nothing in the grand scheme of life and the only thing that really matters is our health.

A very active friend just had a stroke yesterday plus covid he got from his wife. Half his body out of action. I spoke to the hospital and they said this Covid strain has a long incubation period so Mr E who was with him Thursday needs to keep testing.

One interesting fact when I asked about visiting, nurse said there are no restrictions but don’t advise it. Far cry from past Covid days.

That Auckland Council is introducing 24/7 parking fees, removing the one decent parking building in the CBD (Via sale) and doing almost everything it can, to make going to the CBD as difficult and unattractive as possible, whilst lamenting the fact people don't come to the CBD and spend their money. So freaking dumb.

It’s Auckland Transport isn’t it? Rather than the Auckland Council.

In my opinion

AT seems to have “gone maverick” and believes it is not answerable to anyone, including the council or the ratepayers who pay their salaries.

They have beeen asked to save costs/increase revenue, so in typical “Sir Humphrey” fashion they have come up with a plan to get the maximum number of backs up.

Multiple unelected Civil Servants in Wellington seem to have come up with the same tactic.

Yes totally (and @dingbat is right too - AT). Mayor Brown doesn’t seem very impressed.

Yes, you are correct it's AT. It's general cluelessness so it was 50/50 as to whom it was.  AT should be disbanded and rebuilt in my opinion, it's not fit for purpose, and as you say, doesn't listen to it's constituants. They are redoing an area of road near where I work, that means traffic coming out of our side street could need to wait 3-4 times as long to get onto that main road. There used to be two lanes there and they reduced it to one, and now they are removing the median strip to make way for 3 bicycles that use that road every day, meaning traffic turning left, waiting behind traffic turning right that will need to wait until traffic is entirely free on both lanes, are likely going to be there a LONG time. A major problem already at peak times.  I took the time to write a submission with proper diagrams and traffic flow simulations, got an auto reply and they carried on their merry way doing the original plan. Interestingly, a number of our neighbours wrote to them with similar concerns I subseequently found out.

Either you're in Devonport or they're doing exactly the same thing as they did in Devonport.  Plus they took weeks to build one of those million-dollar raised pedestrian crossings just to make it worse
