That the rule that luggage/possessions expand to use available space seems to apply to all the range rovers around my neighbourhood.

You live in Remuera then?

Our bathroom window is the winter/wet-weather entrance for the cat, which means it's always left open. Since closing it on leaving the house is done on autopilot, there's always this nagging doubt that it's still open, leading to an occasional return to the house only to find it's fast shut. This has finally solved the problem:

It's a tiny LoRa device, photo makes it appear a lot bigger than actual size, which reports whether the window is closed or not. One of the most useful pieces of home automation in the place.

It's one of the YoLink family that was mentioned in the water leak alarm thread. Best place to get them is through their Amazon store because of the fast and (relatively) cheap shipping. These ones in particular are the door sensors.

Edited to add: In terms of setup, it's remove from box, peel back tape, press onto wall, press button to power on, scan QR code, and it's set up. I wish all tech worked like this.

I can only imagine the things those people saw. I am glad people are being recognised for their actions.

A US company is going to sell jeans that look like you've wet yourself:

https://www.cnet.com/news/this-company-sells-jeans-designed-to-make-it-look-like-you-wet-yourself/

I see this as potentially being very handy - when I get even older, if I do wet myself, I can walk around nonchalantly because now no-one will really know - has he or hasn't he? Beats wearing adult nappies too - they don't look so good under jeans.

If this was 1 April, I might have thought nah, they're just taking the p*ss.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Surprisingly, the company, founded in 2018, precedes last year's TikTok Pee Your Pants Challenge, which saw people doing just that and posting the results on the video sharing platform.

I really miss the olden days, when empires collapsed from fun stuff - gluttony, orgies and decadence.

Massive utes are awesome for supermarket shopping...you can put your shopping in the tray and when you get home, it's all the way up the front, behind the cab, so you can't reach it. So handy!
