Sounds like a type of Main Character Syndrome. You're only there to progress their life story, so your feelings don't matter.

Stuff has broken the workaround of changing the "quizzes" URL to "quizes" to bypass the login prompt :(

Posted about this before but frustrations with selling stuff via Facebook marketplace. Had so many people just ghost and not turn up that now  I don't give the address until they confirm they are on the way. Had one who was supposed to come today (messaged earlier in the week), I messaged this morning to confirm and she replied straight away that she could come in an hour so I gave the address. 20 minutes later "sorry I don't need this anymore as my sister has just given me one." Maybe this was true and they did at least tell me they weren't coming and didn't just not turn up but, in general do people get some kind of fun out of mucking people around?

FB marketplace is notorious for this. People selling stuff then changing their mind with BS excuses.

Yep for sure. Should just use Trademe but find the ability to be able to contact people directly and arrange it all quickly (plus no success fee) to be convenient for selling low value stuff. For anything of significant value I'd use Trademe.

People saying/writing they are taking leaves.

You take annual leave, leaves lie on the ground.

It's a second language thing but it always irritates me.

Because they'd as leaf not be there?

And also don't know that it's spelled "lief".

Clearing out my parent's house, prior to its sale settlement, I had a guy pay me for a large cabinet and then not turn up to collect it despite daily naggings from me. It went to the Sallies in the end because house had to be vacated. To give him his due, he did tell me to keep the money...

But yeah, selling on Facebook Marketplace is like herding cats as the saying goes.

"Your parcel is arriving tomorrow."

No ifs, buts or maybes in that message. Yet 29 hours later it hasn't turned up here in Whakatane yet (I guess technically it's not late until midnight), but the tracking still shows it sitting in Auckland.

It's still sitting in Auckland, and as of this morning it's been there for longer than it took to get from Germany to NZ in the first place.

This damn man-flu I just can't shake. Covid has been swirling around the house and office, but I have consistently tested negative, despite a couple of weeks of feeling absolute pants.

At the moment its straight out of one sickness and into another different one.

Really wish I could work from home or at least away from the people that come to work when unwell because they want to keep their sick leave for another time or are out of it.

At least I should be able to get a matching replacement [fork] without too much trouble.

Or so I thought. Briscoes online support has elected to go with the "try fobbing him off" technique, so hopefully the local shop will be better. Hopefully.

Three weeks later... first attempt at local Briscoes was "I don't know, but try the manufacturer". The manufacturer only had a contact form, and didn't bother to respond. I popped back into Briscoes yesterday and this time it was "so-and-so will know, she'll be in tomorrow but I'll leave a message for her".

She just rang me, and I'm going to be sent a replacement for free. So it took a long time to get there, but after getting in touch with the right person that was a resolution in the end!

I'm certainly going to be counting all my cutlery every rubbish day now...

I have tested negative when everyone else in the house was testing positive. I had the same symptoms. If it's not that then I agree flu is bad and it's still a killer for older people. Pfizer and Moderna are both working on RNA flu vaccines. Moderna seems to be ahead with eta 2025. Can't wait:

Something small, got my Flip 4 back from Samsung all repaired. Great. Wiped which was annoying.

However what's even weirder is that it doesn't appear to have any message tone options. Only ringtones. So I've had to have it on mute. I've just discovered that there was a hidden setting which was off, that allows you to edit the notification sound from within each app (which I've always been able to do).

However the sound options are all ringtones!

I feel like we've come full circle with app permissions. Once upon a time it wanted your microphone, camera and first born. Now they are all off to the point where some apps don't actually work as they should. And it's not obvious what you need to go in and turn on.

It's like some weird version of android has been installed has been installed on my phone.

Apple do far superior restorations compared to Android. Get a new iPhone, type in iCloud details and ten minutes later it's basically the same. I use an iPhone for work.

But I can't stand them for personal use. But that's another debate.
