elpenguino:

I was watching some euro 2020 and I've always liked the thing they do in footy where, when a player goes down, the team with the ball kick it out to allow for a stoppage, enabling the player to be attended to.

The thing that makes me smile is the way the team with the throw in return the ball to the team that kicked it out.

It's very sporting.

Another thing that makes me smile is how many injuries can be fixed by some magic water, or if it's really serious, some spray.

I'm just glad the magic defibrillator worked on that Danish chap!

Managed to gather tools from an old German Company named Belzer-Dowidat in a very good 'near new' shape :-)

Still got my Belzer screwdrivers from my Telegraph Tech days back nearly 40 years ago.  They still get used regularly and are as good and comfortable as the day I bought them.

Granddaughter telling me the reason she wasn’t eating her roast chicken was because it was too moist.
So...dry and overcooked next time it is.

What's the point in eating meat (or poultry), if you can't chew on it for a good hour or so?

Far out, Grandma...you need to learn to properly incinerate your food.

Sidenote: I was largely raised eating well-done and somewhat dry meat. First time I ever tried a truly moist meat dish, other than a casserole, I was quite put off by the texture...

It's funny the things that make kids not want to eat foods. Also I find the description of the issue may bear little to no resemblance to the actual issue.

IE this lettuce is sour...

Bear in mind that small children have heightened senses and something they say tastes bad actually may taste bad to them.

Their taste preferences probably evolved to match dietary needs. Probably worked ok until cheap bulk sugar and McNuggets arrived.

Possibly anecdotal, but I've heard the argument that young children find green vegetables bitter, possibly as a trait evolved to stop them putting random poisonous stuff in their mouths when foraging as hunter-gatherers.

Getting some 2.3m tall bookcases in through the front entrance despite them being too big to fit, which means not having to lift them up over the deck, a four-person job at least due to their size and the height you'd have to move them over.
