sir1963:

Allowing people to pay more to jump the queue and force others to wait even longer.... yeah that sucks.

Is that actually "a thing" now? Last time I was there (admittedly a number of years ago) there was a "Fastpass" system, but you didn't need to pay any extra for it.

Yeah a few years since were there as well, bit I always found it amazing how many people "needed" a wheelchair, which allowed them and their "care-givers" to access the Fastpass system...

ezbee: If everything you could choose, why Gladiator ? Is more my thought.

Same here, I mean it's not a particularly good film, and if the intent is to have them analyse it as a creative work... well, how about "thugs beat up other thugs"?

If the teacher wanted a gladiator-style film, he should have shown them Hercules Returns.

sir1963: Pay a large sum of money to go into a shopping mall that has limited product range and most of it is just variations on a theme

The goods are grossly over priced, the food is even more over priced.

Even though you have in effect paid to go on the rides, you will need to pay more to be able to do the rides in finite time as wait times are typically up to 2 hours long.

Ah, so you've had the genuine Disney experience then :-(.  At least they didn't end up killing you.

Key words being creative, analyse. To me, thats education. I feel for the poster, Mr N. I have kids, older than his, but as a parent nurturing them, its like a dagger.

The relish on my Costco hotdog fell out into my shirt pocket while I was eating it on the drive home from shopping.

So the relish wasn't wasted = should be in the smile thread.

Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

Some years back I read that some families were "renting" disabled kids to "give them a day out" , just so their kids got to the front of the line for all the rides.

Today at Disney...walked 11km

The "Disney Experience" so far has been like

Pay a large sum of money to go into a shopping mall that has limited product range and most of it is just variations on a theme

The goods are grossly over priced, the food is even more over priced.

Even though you have in effect paid to go on the rides, you will need to pay more to be able to do the rides in finite time as wait times are typically up to 2 hours long. My hips and my back are not up to this queuing , apart from the fact I have better things to do in this time.

Allowing people to pay more to jump the queue and force others to wait even longer.... yeah that sucks.

Welcome to capitalism. Come on in (if you’ve got cash.)

Behodar:

It's rated M, not R. I'm not sure why Jase quoted the R restrictions for an M-rated movie.

I actually have a US import of the same movie, and it is rated R over there!

because if you actually read what I wrote

"If it were rated R it would be illegal for the teacher to show it to the kids, and they could be up for charges because of it."

Then i quoted the classifications people to back up that statement

as for Disney, get there when it first opens, the queues are way less, we managed to get the whole park done in 2 mornings.
