This kind of nonsense: Israel Adesanya racially abused and threatened on Auckland Street

What kind of moron engages this way with a global sporting superstar and why?
Also - hats off to Adesanya - he knew how to defuse the situation, even as it was getting more tense.

Such a shame that people like this exist in the world - and I know it's not limited to just our shores.

Agree with that, but was kind of making the point that the main reason he was called out is because of his status. Perhaps its the kind of sport that attracts thugs? Who knows.

Yeah, she has looked as far afield as Pukekohe, Whangarei and everything in between - her next move is apparently Thames, Hamilton, Tauranga and the adjacent areas

My nephew just did his in Tauranga, he lives on Auckland's North Shore.

So that's roughly the equivalent of someone in Queenstown doing it in Dunedin.

North shore ones are moved from VTNZ..

VTNZ North Shore is no longer a practical driver testing site.

All tests will now be conducted from the Takapuna Rugby Football club, entrance on Akoranga Drive.

To many government departments shut down or merged has not created a more smooth running or cheaper way of doing things.

The good old black & white cops is one such department. Licenses and road rule enforcement has been appalling since farming these areas out to AA and police respectively.

Other examples are:

Ministry of Works
Ministry of Housing

I see all these machines and equipment sitting idle on subcontractors work sites and still in hirage  from another subcontractor.

Another example was the Health Department setting up a local vaccination centre using all hired equipment. Chairs, tables, couches, trollies & partitions all hired with the hire company name nicely prominent for 3 years. It would have been cheaper to buy and reuse over and over again.

The now defunct or drastically parred down government departments were also a huge educational resource for apprenticeships.

Subcontracting and PPP contracts, I believe, do not save tax payer money but are a way to print exorbitant monies for non government enterprises.

I get the sentiment but it is worth mentioning that the approach you are referring to basically sent New Zealand bankrupt.

Mentioning the Ministry of Works then criticizing machines and equipment sitting idle is a strange position.

that was due to Muldoon big borrowing for big projects. He burrowed NZ into huge debt. Then Muldoon was booted out and Rogernomics became the great big sell off, except he went too far and now we are in the clasp of  the financial greed of the private sector.

yes the government had machines sitting idle but they were asserts now the machines are sitting idle and still being paid for within the original exorbitant tendering quotes.

NZ Post this time. I mean there's a parcel processed at Wiri at 5.03pm on the 9th and another parcel processed at Wiri at 5.03pm on the 9th, how difficult can it be to have both of them, together, at the same time, waiting for the courier at 8.35am on the 11th ?

Wiri is their new incredibly large facility, so probably quite difficult.

It also seems to be where parcels go to get delayed for several days for no apparent reason.

No doubt a result of 'how can we improve our service while saving money' and then forgetting the first bit.

People tailgating. It's epidemic.

Generally drivers cannot react in fewer than 1.5 ~ 2 seconds.

If you're that close and they brake suddenly you. will. hit. them. That's not my opinion, that's just science.

There's zero, zilch, negatory, nil, just no reason to be that close, perhaps except screaming to everyone else on the road how you're an unwitting psychopath? I mean not something I'd personally scream from the rooftops, but you do you.

I mean I'll go faster if that's what you want? Only if you're going to pay my speeding fine and wear any demerits! Then go hard! But... I'll need that in writing, signed by a lawyer thanks.

And yes - I know my speed based by multiple GPS's so none of this "akchully all cars speedo reads highya speed donchya know. Wahhhh.. You're only going 48.."

And it's really hard to ignore it when 95% of your rear vision is someone else's face, windshield and bonnet.
