richms:

Ive not seen them, the 4 way has been a good one for a long time but the issue I have with the deta 5 ways is that theyre not centered on the flushbox so my efforts in putting the boxes in nicely lined up is all for nothing.

Oh, wait. The six-way is a powerboard, with a 3-pin plug on a cord. neb's thing attaches to the wall, and costs twice as much.

On the subject of jobs, ads for the position of Snowflake Engineer always makes me smile.

just had a call saying my Visa card was charged for 2 payments around $1800 and they had put a hold on them, interesting as  i dont have any credit cards. They then gave me a choice of pressing 1 to stop the payment or press 2 to ok the payment, so of cause i pressed 2 to ok it , not sure that was the right answer because i was disconnected . Oh well maybe next time😀.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thinking about very, very early ‚retirement‘ … to become a ‚man of independent means‘ and doing only the fun stuff.

Requesting call-backs from Apple Support online on Saturday and Sunday afternoons - and each time getting the call within 15-30 seconds. Then, getting good quality call connections and someone I can understand clearly. Quoting case ID from Saturday meant I didn’t need to go through it all again when I called for further support on Sunday. Excellent service. (Issue was highly erratic response behaviour from new Apple TV Siri remote - now thought to be sorted).

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You pay for the privilege but Apple do this better than most.

I ordered the "workbook" for Affinity Designer.

"Please allow 5-7 business days for UK, Europe and US orders. For all other orders, please allow up to 28 business days."

It arrived in 3 business days.

Regularly being chosen for "Black Box" deliveries...presumably because I am a statistical anomaly - middle aged man etc...I'd say I am in the minority of the people that are signed up to the program. Ans I always do the surveys etc, so I probably meet some algorithm nonsense too.

Some decent free samples this time around, too.

This number plate surround on the car ahead of us:

(I haven't blurred the plate since it'd detract from the image, and it's a public item so I can't see any privacy implications).
