Product documentation that's just a sheet of paper with a bunch of drawings on it that you're supposed to decode. The only text on the whole thing is the copyright notice.

Meanwhile it also comes with a "safety information" booklet in about twelve languages, so they have no problem with printing text if they actually want to!

Predatory companies looking to catch out hapless people who while trying to access their new router admin screens, type 192.168.1.254 into the google search rather than a browser address bar.

The cupholders in my car - not being the right size or shape for any of the receptacles I use

Is it a Skoda? My wife's Skoda has cupholders that are just about big enough to fit a shot glass.

I've had that problem recently. There are plug-and-socket size expanders for that:

The two examples in the middle on that page.

My FnP top loader washing machine.. seems incapable any more of getting through a wash cycle without having an out of balance fit at 30 minutes and 13 minutes to go.

I can't remember how old it is, maybe closer to 10y than 5y. It still has the protective film over the buttons though.

Lego instructions? They have no text.

neb: The seeming impossibility of getting rid of CUPS.
Are you using snaps?

CUPS on Ubuntu is a schizophrenic mix of apt and snap, you have to remove different pieces using both systems.  I seem to have stopped it now by setting a pin to disable it, meaning that components are still present but a system update doesn't reinstall more of it without being asked to.

The speedup of TV shows filmed in the US at 24 frames/sec to 50 fps to be shown on broadcast TV here with our HDTV. I rarely watch television shows on TV byut the other day I was watching The Big Bang Theory on TV2 and the speedup was glaringly obviouis with key actors voices sounding unnaturally high. This of course does not occur on TVNZ On Demand where the frame rate does not need to be changed.

Others with less pitch sensitivity might not care.

Yet another reason I steer clear of snaps, flatpak and similar "useful" tools.

Waking up this morning to a notification from Air Bnb that our booking for the Coldplay concert in Auckland in a few weeks is canceled. No reason, just "your reservation is canceled." Presumably so they can 5 times the price and try and get someone who is still desperate a few weeks before. The concerts went on sale last November and we booked the accommodation in February so you'd have thought the event was known about and higher pricing was factored in at the time (it wasn't exactly cheap for where it is).

Our VW has spring loaded fingers in the cupholders to hold various cups snugly.

But that subject does trigger me... things that rattle or squeak in a car. Especially on a long trip. Principal rattle offender - golf clubs and trundlers. Principle squeak offender: chillybins. Both need to be swaddled in towels before departure.

This should be contestable.
I can't believe they can just cancel without a genuine reason. "I could get more money" isn't a valid reason, if that is actually the case.
Much like Uber can cancel when they are metres from you...often because a better fare has come along.

I have no idea why they persisted with the 50fps nonsense when they went to digital, since anything digital can do 60 and 24. Even the junky sat boxes of 20+ years ago could do a crappy conversion to 50 on the analog outputs if someone had a real dinosaur of a TV.

But when places want to turn off 2G and 3G roaming for this exact reason you get all the whiners about it out in force.
