gzt: "Freak motocross 'tragedy': Man had been cheering on grandson"
^First up, what's with the single quotes around 'tragedy'?
Second, the lead in:
"Bruce Honore and his wife Meri had been at the Cambridge motocross track cheering on their 8-year-old grandson when a bike flew across the barrier tragically killing him and injuring his wife."
Is my grammar really so bad? I cannot understand who was killed from that sentence. It is a serious question if someone wants to explain it in grammar terms.
I agree that the grammar is spectacularly lax in that sentence.
