neb:  Just had to separate items turn up in seven days from order to delivery. Looks like they've got back to pre-Covid delivery speeds.

Just had 5 days. Now my order list is empty. I have to solve that! Need more recommendations.

Here are recent haul items.

Got this pointless clock thing

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004878810565.html

Also got this to hopefully test my recovered 18650 cells without wasting time on my hobby charger.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005444930813.html

And this to split one 4k output over 4 screens that will be used for signage at work

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005458144730.html

And these to put on my pointless USB powered tat to be able to turn it off and on from Alexa

Where's the flashing lights? If you don't think you're living in a disco when you plug it in it's not really electronic bling.

I'm trying to buy a small ITX case off Aliexpress but for the second time in a row the seller messages me with an excuse they can't provide the goods and asks me to cancel the order/request a refund. I'm guessing the shipping cost is too prohibitive, but why do they want me to request a refund rather than cancel the order themselves? I'm assuming if they cancel there is a penalty of some form from Aliexpress?

That is correct. They have had a mess from their freight calculator and dont want to lose money, and dont want to lose reputation by being the ones that cancel.

You will probably find that the case becomes unavailable for you to order or has stupid high freight costs on it now.

I doubt it. In my experience, sellers almost never update their listings, even after they make claims such as shipping costs increasing.

@PANiCnz, I suggest cancelling. If they asked you to select a specific option, don't. Use the most appropriate one. If you don't cancel, they may mark the item as shipped, then you have to wait the full period before you can claim a refund and if the tracking shows something was delivered (another order), then you may not win your dispute.

NOT from Aliexpress but...

The plastic floor registers in the rental were shagged. I am doing a big overhaul as it was due.

New Gas heater has gone in, so time to replace the registers.

Can get crap plastic ones for $30 +gst

Saw some plain Aluminium ones in Australia for less than AU$16 (ie about NZ$20 in exchange rate + GST), they would not sell to NZ, but had a NZ agent whose price is NZ$54

SOD OFF.

So off to Amazon and have these coming for just over NZ$40 each inc gst So much nicer looking. We pay WAY too much for stuff here in NZ, which is why I import so much these days.

Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Active. $39.21. Eight days from order to delivery (Ali).

Also bought me a women's t-shirt from Kathmandu (free shipping + $10 off $20 voucher on your birthday). Shirt wasn't available in men's. Unfortunately, I didn't read the description properly. It's a crop top lol.

I have been going mad on there in the cheap start of the month choice deals on USB C cables, and other little trinkety things like cable wraps and similar.

It usually ends up saying on each order that I have saved $100and something off the normal prices, which is absurd. But all the cables I have got last month seemed to be pretty good quality and charge the phone and stuff up fine.

I may have gone a little mad with the us$ 1.99 choice deal things.

Incoming are many USB C cables, some HDMI ones, HDMI to micro HDMI (for the raspberry pi)

Also for a little more (2.99 or 3.99) some wifi/zigbee temperature sensors (tuya app) and more of the little USB switches.

Trick seems to be to add things to your cart, then take them out. You then get similar things when you refresh the $1.99 deals

Has anyone shipped products via Cainiao Super Economy Global lately? These were previously taking months via Czech Post, so I've avoided that method since then.

I was matching prices between suppliers (one selling packs of 5 nuts, the other 10), and accidentally ordered 20 shipped via slow shipping, instead of 10 shipped via AliExpress Standard Shipping. I don't want to order another 10 and end up with 30, when I only need 8. The rest of the parts for the project were shipped using fast methods. I can afford a short delay, but not months.

HDMI to micro HDMI

I still have one of these in my cable box which I received with a Nokia N8 back in 2010.

Just checked my order history, last Cainiao i got:

Ordered 14th September - Delivered 27th September
