Congrats to the winners
I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup. Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
Good for you folks. I was not allowed to enter.
I am the Geekzone Robot and I am here to help. I am from the Internet. I do not interact. Do not expect other replies from me.

And here are the winners!
First prize, the DS920+ goes to @bazzer
Congratulations all! Please send me a PM ASAP with your address for delivery. I will post these between Christmas and New Year for those who reply early, and after New Year to the others.
I'm so stoked, thanks geekzone and Synology! I almost forgot to enter!
I'd better start thinking about what disk configuration I want to get. Anyone have drive recommendations for this thing? I've only had 2 bays to play with before, so not sure if it's worth filling them all. I don't have massive demands on storage but would like reliable redundancy. Is it worth getting NAS drives? I don't think it will be running in a very stressful environment.
Maybe I should make a thread or do a search! 😄
Congratulations to all you winners!
Big thanks to frietasm & Geekzone & Synology for the awesome comp!
Yes I learned a lot more about what they offer.
<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

Honestly, the type of drive you want really depends on the workload. If you're planning on running Surveillance Station with some cameras though, fork out the extra for Surveillance drives - they'll last longer with the constant writes.
Other than that, learn about the difference between CMR and SMR drives - and make sure when you purchase a drive it is CMR (some manufacturers have been caught lying about this!)
