A notebook up for grabs you say.. Maybe I should stop trying to encourage people I know to come to the Wellington event ;-P

Well it looks like a slot has opened up for Auckland. Due to family commitments I won't be able to make it this time round.

I process refunds once a week (there's one for AKL and a couple for WLG), and notify the next person in the waiting list.

For AKL we have notified six people in the waiting list, giving 48 hours to act but only two people booked. If you miss the notification, then you miss your spot in the waiting list and go back to the end...

Will there still be a reminder email going out before each event. I was booked for last year and totally had bookmarked the wrong date and went away the weekend it was actually on only to find when I checked my emails I had missed it. If it was like the previous year at One Red Dog it was going to be a great night.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you (possibly again) at the Wellington event.

As usual MF has done a fantastic job in putting these together and also the sponsors have been great in providing the Pizza, Drinks and Other goodies for each night (what ever they may be). Thanks to you all.

Shadowfoot:
freitasm: If we can't reach the numbers for those two locations I will have to rethink moving this to being an Auckland-only event.

I hope youdon't mean Auckland only in the future. I'd like to be at the Wellington event but I'm committed to be out of town at Easter. Any other weekend would probably mean Wellington would have sold out fast.

+1, was looking forward to it, would have gone almost any other weekend, but, am going away with my family at easter so can't go :-(

Have to agree with that sentiment I see a lot of people booking for both Wellington and Auckland and the Easter thing surely would play a big part in numbers coming along.

Maybe some people could just buy tickets then not show up this way GZ gets the benefit of selling the tickets and the people who turn up get the other benefits. This of course only works if it's like a day or two out from the event as that's not a great thing if a genuine attendee wants to come along but all the tickets are gone.

Another thing I noticed different from the last two years is that there is no big display on the frontpage like i other years so it's not always in your view when you come on to GZ so unless someone's talking about it a lot of people simply may not know about it. I liked how it was in 2010 on the front page with links to all the information, prizes etc plus having some of the photos available to view helps the new to GZ and or GZFP nights see how much fun they can have.

We already sent three emails to everyone registered as "New Zealand" who posted in our forums at least a few times. I am about to send a fourth and last reminder. If the person really participates in this community they would have noticed THIS topic in the front page at least once in the last four months, or seem this topic in the RSS feeds, or seem my emails, or seem my posts on Twitter.

Remember, we are doing this for the people who form the base of the community. People who will see the value in having free pizza and beer - or at least a $10 value in it.
