It is time to start planning for our Geekzone Pizza evening events around the country again!

This event is possible thanks to our premiere sponsors:

PizzaFreeview
Drinks2degrees
Ice cream: Giapo (Giapo on TwitterGiapo on Facebook(Auckland only)

Prizes: Three HP Mini laptops to giveaway, one for each event.

Keep reading for more information on how to register!

Venues, dates registration:

Auckland: 31st March (80 tickets, sold out, register for waiting list here)
Wellington: 7th April (80 tickets, tickets available, register here)
Christchurch
: 21st April (60 tickets, tickets available, register here)

This time we will have larger numbers in both Auckland and Wellington, as well a new venue for Auckland. You must be 18 or over on the date to attend these events.

How do registrations work?
Registrations cost $10 and are processed by Eventbrite. You will be able to pay with a credit card or via PayPal.

Geekzone users can bring guests. Guest tickets cost $30 each.

What's this crazy talk? Free pizza and drinks?
That's exactly what it is. Well not quite free because we charge $10 for registrations (keep reading why we do this), but that's almost as good as free.

We get together, meet new people with common interest in technology, talk about our geek stuff - mobile, home theatres, applications, networks, etc. There's not set agenda, no (long) speeches. Just friends all around.

Why do we charge $10 for registration?
When we book a venue for 80 people we have to pay catering for 80 people, even if only 60 show up. In past free events we've seen up to 15% of people booking but not showing up - this was too expensive to continue, and lack of consideration to others who did want to attend. Money from registrations go towards a bigger bar tab. If you register and don't show up we will drink on you.

Why do I need to be at least 18 years old?
Because there's alcohol involved.

I tweet!
Ok... We see someone is using #GZPE to refer to these events. Go for it.

Codemania
If you are a developer coming to Auckland 31st March consider attending Codemania 30th March.

Looking forward to these gatherings - they're always worth getting along to. Hopefully can get to more than just the Auckland one in 2012.

Sorry, but the South Island audience is really not large enough to have two events there. Take a road trip - a few people do it and seems to have fun! Get a group together to CHC.
