Last week when the finance committee was away I watched

Iron Sky   The directors cut  (Via google play)    Great SciFi comedy.   Gave it a 7 / 10  See a sequels coming next year.

Debug  (Via Netflix)   Not too bad . Looked a bit like a knock off of Event Horizon.   5 / 10

U.F.O   (Via Quickflix)   How do i get that 100  minutes of my life back.  It was awful.  1 / 10

The Avengers: Age of Ultron (at the movies).

Everyone is right: it's not as good as the first one, by a long shot.

I found myself quite bored throughout the movie. None of the new characters were interesting. The romance angle with Natasha and the Hulk was just dumb.

It had a few kick a$$ good action scenes, but they were too far apart.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) - IMDb

I do not know what my favorite reviewer was drinking to give it such a good rating or why IMDB have so high rating.
Strongly disagree.
If it were more than $2 (got in Video Ezy on special) I would say it not only waste of time but also waste of money

Just shows how everyone is different. I think it's an great movie, albeit pretty quirky.

It was up for Best Picture at the Oscars this year as well.

Best not to get any other Wes Anderson movies. You won't like those either.

Interstellar - disappointing. Maybe had some ideas lifted from 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Nowhere near as good as his previous effort Inception.

Strongly agree on that... which is not supportive of what you said about the previous one

Gravity.

Crikey...a good movie, but too long and a bit stressful...also a bit to much of the same thing and also a few moments where they go against what they state in the opening credits...i.e. no sound in space etc.

I enjoyed it, but wouldn't have thought it worthy of so much praise.

6/10

I watched Interstellar.

I was really disappointed.

They had Kip Thorne advising on the Physics! A major physicist - respects!

I thought it would be awesome.

But, instead there was some New Age BS about 'love being another dimension'. - puke.

Then there was the improbable story about some lifeform eating up all the Oxygen on Earth.

There is more I can say, on the Science.

But I thought it was just disappointing and forgettable.

Mad Max: Fury Road.

9/10

It is what it is. And I really enjoyed it
Its not high brow, cinema.
Its gratuitously violent car crashes with very good cinematography and a believable world. Three interesting main characters. (Max probably the weakest)
Amazing old fashioned stunts, not CGI/motion capture.

Definitely felt like I got my moneys worth ($28! Ticket, popcorn and a beer)

A.

Similar view probably only 8.5 for me, but that is still outstanding since I tend to be fairly critical.

The sets and props were SPECTACULAR.

Personally, I enjoyed "The Life Aquatic", absolutely loved "Moonrise Kingdom", and totally gave up watching "The Grand Budapest Hotel" after about half an hour, as I also thought it was complete rubbish.  Just goes to show something, I guess...

Really, I really liked Interstellar.  I liked it because it was completely different and used a movie to help get across the idea of relativity.  I was completely different.

I nearly when to go and see an artsy film last night called Leviathan http://www.flicks.co.nz/movie/leviathan/ it has some good reviews.  Has anyone seen it?
