johno1234: It's like TV3/Stuff are manufacturing a popular "celebrity" by just telling us so. IMHO he's not particularly clever, insightful or special. A poor man's John Campbell.

It's not just TV3, look at Paul Holmes, an obnoxious twerp whose sole claim to fame was that TV1 handed him the best TV time slot in the country.

Rikkitic:

On another subject, I am really annoyed by companies that still insist on using those stupid captcha challenges. They seem stuck on motorcycles at the moment. After three pages I said stuff it and the company lost my business.

They are the single most stupid thing on the internet. A fuzzy, ambiguous picture. Is that traffic light partially in the frame or not? And you click through over and over again and it still doesn't *&%#@ accept. GRRRR!

Paul Holmes died ten years ago and did not appear on TV often in the years prior to his death. Paddy Gower, can't comment only because I watch almost no free to air tv.

Mike King worries me a bit. His comments today regarding alcohol use seems to justify my concerns. Also many financial "rumors" that have been circulating for some years.

I actually wonder if he might be having a bit of a mental break himself, right at the moment.

He's had a few struggles in the past and sought help. Maybe this is someting he should do again?

I can only assume that sponsorship comes into it with schilling for booze in such a moronic way.

Grizzling on behalf of a friend, who moved house a couple of months ago. Ordered fibre, still not connected. Asked for copper in the meantime, "nah we don't provide copper in areas that have fibre". Never mind that fibre still isn't there...

Ah, the Catch-22 that's also popular with online accounts: Enter $password -> "Incorrect password, you need to do a password reset" -> Password reset to $password -> "Error, that password is already in use".

Tried to book a courier on TM to an RD address, no matter what I did or how I fiddled the address, including copying it direct from the NZ Post address finder, TM said it didn't exist.  In the end I went to the NZ Post site and booked it there, got Courier instead of Economy shipping at 2/3 the TM price and no problems with the address.

Unless there was a glitch in pricing, it looks like TM is charging extra to provide a crappier service.

And those who used 6-month connection times as an excuse to sell off the former Telecom are silent.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

That happens most of the time if the company accepts passwords of any length but only uses a portion of them.

I tried to access a company login page once and got this error. My password was 32 characters long. I tried the first 16 of those characters, and it passed.

I should post in the Examples of Braind Dead Software.

Buying EA Sports WRC with the new PS5.  Only to find that EA has terrible account handling.  If, for one of many self determined reasons, they decide to disable your account, that's basically it.

There's no way to re-enable it and you can't link to the PSN for any future games because you're only allowed one account ever.

At this point, the game will be being returned as that makes it unplayable.

K Mart online . if you have had the pleasure, and i mean that in the loosest sense , you will know what i mean. You can order things that say they are in stock and a day later you get an email saying they are out of stock and you get a refund which takes days to happen. And the slowness of delivery, i got an email saying the items have been sent, and i mean items because if you order a few things they will split them up into different courier parcels and they take forever to get your address, at the moment i have been told that it will be 3-5 business days just to get the tracking number. it should not take a week or so in NZ to get you parcel. I get things from Australia and China quicker than that.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Yes and no. Yes, if she changed her phone provider over to them. But her phone's through work, so no.
