Following the helpdesk's standard instructions on how to remedy a seemingly common and innocuous issue, then finding a reboot of the laptop would have done it...and needing to do a reboot anyway, as the instructions didn;t work.

Do you mean that the helpdesk has a standard instruction other than Reboot?

I stood on cat crap while removing trailer load of over grown lupins from garden. Issue was I'd sprinkled grass clippings over garden so I could not located the source.

BUT man did it stink! All over my gum boot. Squishy and fresh"£%&&$£ There is cat near by that has issues.

Another thing. Have to re-apply raspberry pi keyboard language to get rid of the pound symbol following update again...

Lol. Admittedly on the same help page they did state that "if all of the above fails to resolve the issue a reboot is recommended - instructions on how to reboot can be found here".

Skinny mobile is really getting on my nerves.

I can't reach Skinny mobile support, which I'm pretty sure is somewhere around India.

According to the website, support hours start at 8am, but in fact it's 9am according to the automated attendant. I'd call 9am extremely optimistic.

I tried to get through yesterday morning, but after being on hold for 40 minutes I gave up.

I called at 9:30 this morning, and I got "we're experience network issues and we can not see or change customer records"

By "digital support" they mean a Facebook chat, which is also not working.

I tried multiple times today, though the automated attendant only to get the same "you've tried to reach us out outside of business hours"

It's 1pm; I'll guess I'll try in another hour.

It looks like the website link to Facebook Messenger has changed, So I'm guessing they've somehow managed to screw up both the call canter and Facebook links.

I'm switching from Skinny mobile to Warehouse mobile next month. It'll save a couple of bucks, and at least it can't be any worse support.

Booting things is often the only really useful remedy.  For example petrol lawnmower engines, generators, etc.

Oh yes they can.  Warehouse Mobile is the Aramex of mobile providers.  I assume one of the contributing factors in their low cost is that routing all support requests to /dev/null means they can save some money on that end.

One NZ will answer you and have a very talkative person who achieves nothing. I am not sure what is worse.

I will have to call them again to see why my should be simple move from a plan to prepay has not worked again. Seems the easiest way to deal with a telco change of plans is to port to a different one.

Behodar:

When you email a company with a simple question (the answer to which should be on their website, but isn't), and after three business days you still haven't heard a peep out of them.

The company in question is a car rental place in another country. I had a friend who lives there give them a call. The question was "which of your available car models have CarPlay?" and the answer was "dunno, you can have a look on the day".

I'll look at other companies.

Are there any mobile providers that haven't offshored their helpdesk? Not including the ones who operate late at night when the local helpdesk is asleep.

Removal of the clock from Windows 11. You used to be able to click the date/time display in the task bar to get an analog clock but now you only get notifications + a calendar.

I used this all the time for counting down device restart/recovery times but without a seconds hand it doesn’t work the same.

I get annoyed that people think Microsoft should/would/could make life easier.

If that is your only complaint about this abortion of a task bar replacement then consider yourself unscathed with the mess that is 11.
