Heading away after work tonight and made the mistake of forgetting to get petrol yesterday so had to brave Pak n Save (Lower Hutt) at lunch time. Not the shop, just the petrol (located in the carpark) but what a nightmare getting into the carpark was. Amazing how many people leave the Xmas food shopping to Xmas Eve afternoon. I guess there's also the panic shoppers because the shop is going to be closed for 24 hours.

But I need three days worth of food just in case.... 😀

I was just at the local New World and was surprised by how not manic it was (Christmas hosts had to cancel at the last minute so I had to go and pick up some things unexpectedly).

Tinkerisk: I simply bought 5m metres of 2.5mm2 OFC (oxygen free copper) cable for €9 (1.80€ per metre) at the DIY store.

That's what my audio cables are, 2.5mm2 clear sheath with good-quality RCA connectors soldered (not crimped) on.

Also the term OFC has become mostly meaningless, nowadays even (non-Chinese) TPS is pure enough copper to class as OFC.

In my case it is „Made in Germany“ and a trustful source. But yes, they always try.

Handsomedan:

I went to Woolworths today (surprise surprise) to get a couple of last minute things we realised we needed.

My son also had a physio appointment next door, so I went back to the car and sat inside with the aircon on while I waited.
Someone stood behind my car and yelled abuse because I wasn't vacating my parking spot to their liking.

Not condoning Karen's behavior but that'd be a 20 for you on the other side of the planet

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

If it was me I would put this in the small things that make me smile thread.

Went to Woolworths two days before Christmas and was surprised by the emptiness. So much so that I took a photo of an entirely empty aisle and sent it to friends in the UK complaining of queuing for 90 minutes just to enter car parks and then waiting another 30 minutes to find a space.

jonherries: My AliExpress auto electrical connectors arrived in NZ on the 10th and in Wellington on the 14th and I still don't have them, and the last update I got was on the 17th saying they had been delayed.

My annoyance, I have ordered and received other items since the 10th…thanks NZPost.

Jon

I've had such bad service on NZ post AliExpress orders that I was just getting them sent to works street address so that it came fast horse. They seem to have got rid of the people that stare at a door for 20 seconds and then leave and say no one was home for a business now.

Still delayed…Tempted to reorder and see if it gets here faster.

Jon

Being dragged to a social event.

It’s a nice sunny day. Why can’t I just stay at home instead of having to see people?

So, a bit homophobic again today? 😊
