Sky Rojo (Netflix) 7/10

Very much a Tarantino style Spanish series about prostitutes escaping their pimp. Great soundtrack, and lots of fun with laugh out loud moments. Nudity, sex and some graphic scenes, definitely not a family show! Looking forward to season 2.

The English dubbed option is bearable, but I personally preferred the original with subtitles.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Monkey (Monkey Magic) - 1978

Watched this when I was a kid and was mesmerised back then.

Just starting watching it again this arvo and I still love it. There is just something about it I can't explain.

Based on memories as a kid and still enjoying it so much now 10/10

Edit : I believe they have put all the original up on Netflix now ??

Thanks for pointing this out. I too have fond memories of watching this as a kid. I've added it to my list to watch at some stage in the future.

I'm working my way through the first series of Travelers (with one 'L').

IMDB describes it as:

Hundreds of years from now, surviving humans discover how to send consciousness back through time, into people of the 21st century, while attempting to change the path of humanity.

...and scores it 8.1.  Perhaps a bit formulaic in that the 'team' has the usual arrangement of cast members you see in series like Criminal Minds (except no one has pink hair) but still enjoyable.  IMDB reviewers tend to be a bit stingy with their scoring, so most shows that score 8+ are at least half decent.

Just binge watched For All Mankind on AppleTV+, I thought it was really great

I just started this, assuming it was a dramatisation of actual events. Was delighted to find after the first 5 min it’s actually a fictionalised alternate history.

Then even happier to see it’s made by Ronald D Moore (Battlestar Galactica Remake).

Looking forward to watching the rest.

The Watch on TVNZ On Demand

A massive Terry Pratchett fan so it was really hard to watch for the first couple of episodes as it re-spins some of his vision, but now I'm hoping it get renews for a second season.

And current Guilty Pleasure is Popstars on TVNZ. The quality of the talent is outstanding and it will be very interesting to see how the final pans out next week.

Watched the first two episodes of The Apprentice Aotearoa.

Is it just me or the "search for the next entrepreneur" is dull and idiotic? I can't see any of the contestants living through things like developing companies such Vend and Timely (both which have been sold for hundreds of millions after starting small).

Succession, not bad. Great ensemble cast.

Before that WestWorld  hooked me halfway through Season One.  Then came Season Two and it all went pear shaped.  Another disappointment kinda like GoT was

We are currently bingeing (sp?) The Crown season 1 on Netflix NZ.

I can't wait to see if Elizabeth and Phllip stay together!

It's quite funny...even though I know it's a loose adaptation of real events, it just feels like a fictional drama and has ended up being quite easy to get quite invested in. All I have to do is google some history to find out what happems next, but I still find myself quite gripped with some of it (and quite bored by other parts).

It's good though. I can see why it got renewed for a few seasons.
