MadEngineer:

msukiwi:

Deceptive Supermarket "product placement"!

End of isle display! (Only pricing shown is for $3.49)

Yet "Normal" pricing shown on the Macaroon shelf in the biscuit isle. A price check @ the checkout showed NO discount!

(With Clubcard there was NO discount)

I wonder how many customers were / are caught out by this?

This is one of my absolute favorite pet hates.  NW seems to be the worst for it, PnS also.  Sometimes it seems like they're deliberately positioning price tags and product to be deliberately misleading.

It’s illegal. Report them to the Commerce Commission.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

A 3rd grocery player can't come soon enough. While we're at it, the ComCom also needs break-up/divestment powers.

"I regret to say that we of the F.B.I. are powerless to act in cases of oral-genital intimacy, unless it has in some way obstructed interstate commerce." — J. Edgar Hoover

"Create a society that values material things above all else. Strip it of industry. Raise taxes for the poor and reduce them for the rich and for corporations. Prop up failed financial institutions with public money. Ask for more tax, while vastly reducing public services. Put adverts everywhere, regardless of people's ability to afford the things they advertise. Allow the cost of food and housing to eclipse people's ability to pay for them. Light blue touch paper." — Andrew Maxwell

I am absolutely shocked/not shocked that despite the president elect comitting 34 counts of crimes before he was President, he has managed to avoid any punishment at all.

What in the name of all that is holy, was the point of the whole freaking thing.

I think the ComCom needs a lot more resources than it has. I'm particularly keen to see some prosecutions under the new Unconscionable Conduct laws.

It's all very well going after the low hanging fruit, but meanwhile a bunch of rogue traders get away with murder because they know the cost of legal proceedings is prohibitive. The ComCom needs to send a clear message that unconscionable conduct will result in prosecutions.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

MetaQuest update risk since before Christmas

Meta: Quest 2, Quest 3 and Quest 3S software update issue. We've discovered a software update issue that caused some Quest 2/3/3S headsets to be unresponsive and unable to start up correctly. We are actively working on resolving the issue for all users, but in most cases, you are now able to use your device normally. If you have a device that is still unresponsive, please click the button below for next steps. Thank you for your understanding.

Waiting for January update before it's safe to update..

Went to the fruit market on Saturday then to the supermarket.

In season Nectarines and Plums  $3.99 kg at Market. Eggplant $2.50, much smaller than last years.

Packn Save Kilbirnie. An obscene $12.99 kg for the same yummy branded nectarines and the plums. Eggplant, smallish $4.49 each.

The NZD/€ exchange rate also rose relatively sharply in December.

I despise food 'elitism'/snobbery.

If you don't believe it's right for customers then don't sell it, but don't create conflict by offering it at a stupid price and start every conversation about it with conflict.

A sign that says 'sorry we don't offer Hawaiin Pizza' would be far less wanky.

That very few of the 'epic' youtube videos in the thread for that purpose contain anything epic in my opinion :)
