Gilco2:old3eyes: Went and saw San Andreas in 3D yesterday . I give it 10/10 for special effects and about 9 / 10 for plausibility of a major earthquake along the San Andreas fault line in our lifetime though the USGS says it would be a max of about 8.5 not 9.6 as in the movie. Story line 5/10 . All told an expensive exercize for two people but a good yarn. About $60 for tickets and icecreams.wow thats expensive for 2. Looks like I wont be seeing it on big screen

bongojona: slightly off topic, but I don't enjoy 'going to a cinema' to watch a movie
I hate the lack of control of my environment - people speaking during the film, eating noisily & getting up in front of you
Also, you cannot pause the film to go for a break ha !
I much much prefer to watch in the comfort of my lounge, drinking a beer or whatever else I want and no noisy people to deal with
I go to a cinema maybe 2 times a year, and that is being dragged there by family etc
am I alone in this ? I seem to be among the people I work with who love going out to a movie, it seems
sigh

We usually go to an early session so have the theater just about to your self. Like at home except for all the interrupting phone calls from the wife's rellies..

Yep it's getting expensive. Won't be going to the movies very often at this rate. The problem here in NZ is that there is a long delay after the movie exits the theaters and when it's available for streaming via Itunes or Google play. Even longer for US Netflix.. You can find them at the DVD rentals (if you can find one) a few months after they end their theater run..
No wonder people pirate them these days..

JimmyH: I finally saw The Interview on the weekend. We decided to watch it given all the publicity around it and the consequential Sony hack. It was *awful* 1/10 if that. Basically three jokes (the presenter is a dork, pooping pants, and things stuffed up Seth Rogan's backside) which they used over, and over, and over and over.......
An hour and a half of my life I won't get back again. Avoid!
