He sounds like a guest role from 'ello 'ello: "General Klopp is here to see you, Lt. Gruber".

That Jarre would likely never come to NZ. So add the cost of return tickets to Europe to go to one of his epic concerts.

A childhood friend died last night without seeing his children who live up North. They knew he was wasting away for two months and also yesterday morning were advised his body was shutting down, death was imminent.

I’m not upset that he died, it was a blessing in his case because there was no dignity left, but am gutted knowing that all he wanted for weeks was to see his kids and they didn’t bother. At least we were with him and quietly played his favourite music but nothing can make up for not having your kids there to say goodbye to and get a final hug and some comfort. No excuse. This really belongs in the Whisky T thread.

Using Live chat to check the progress of an order because their website isn't working properly.

After 40 minutes waiting, I was told they don't deal with that online, I need to fill out a form or call.

When calling I get told to skip the phone queues by using live chat with no delays!

Then I was told my phone was a month away, and when I asked for clarification, they told me after a 5 minute wait, it will ship with the first order of pre-orders and may arrive between the release date and 10 working days later.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear that. No doubt they will be there double quick to find out what money has been left behind though.

Being forced to threaten Sky with cancellation to get them to sort out my intermittent orange light that everyone knows is not a fault with my box.

Having them ask the same questions as was provided clearly in the ticket I created.

Schools and teachers are the worst at remembering they are the ones providing a service to customers and act like they're the law.

I sent an email this morning and it bounced... but I didn't notice that it bounced, because the bounceback went into my junk folder. Why? Because they put advertising in the bounceback email. Yeesh.

For various reasons, we often use subtitles (if they’re available) when watching a lot of stuff on TV - even if it’s in English.

For the second time in a week we’ve found that the subtitles on a Netflix show (Norwegian movie, Number 24, dubbed into English) do not reflect at all well what is spoken. i.e. the written words are not the same as what is said in the dubbing. Very irritating and disruptive so we turned the subtitles off.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

If using subtitles we tend to keep the original language. Usually the sound is also better than the dubbed version.
