Ah... Yesterday there was "You've Got Mail" on TV One. So I got the old DVD and we watched (it finished about 1/4 ahead of the TV screening).

Always a good story. I kind of like NY, they have some good music on the movie, and great picture.

Just watched Lesbian Vampire Killers - Not bad - Not quite up to Shaun of the Dead standard
But British made still - So actually quite funny - And not just trashy american crap. Ending was a bit light - Could of been better. Give it a 6.5/10

Rented "Love and other disasters" on iTunes today. Light romantic comedy - 6/10 I'd say...

The Wrestler

This was much better than I expected. Aronofsky seems to reinvent himself with each flick and Rourke gave a very moving and heartfelt performance. I was afraid halfway through that it would be nothing more than depressing but it justifies the pain and mood you have to sit through and is very redemptive by the end.

Keen to watch Inglorious Basterds as well.

Pineapple Express really made me laugh out loud, but that's probably because I was half 'in the mood' for it.

Slumdog surprised me, and IMHO deserved the Oscar.

Saw Blues Brothers yesterday on C4. True classic! 10/10

House of Flying Daggers - beautifully crafted and photographed but sad story (subtitles)
Boy in Striped Pyjamas - moving story, chilling in some respects, well acted
Be Kind, Rewind - don't waste your time. sort of tries to be Hi-Fidelity but never gets going
Bounce - Romantic drama, enjoyable on a cold evening with a warm fire.
Life, or Something Like It - light romantic drama / comedy - unusual to see Angelina Jolie in this sort of role. Enjoyed it though, perhaps surprisingly.
A Lot Like Love - gave up about 1/4 way in.

Angels & Demons was much better than I thought it would be. Recommended.

Also saw Chocolat for the first time, and it was amusing. Perhaps not as good as Mostly Martha but nice food nonetheless.

We watched "Someone like you"... Old romantic comedy, ok for an evening with wife but both of us agreed it was a bit weak.

We saw The Hangover last night. Seriously the funniest movie I have ever seen. I WILL be buying the DVD when it comes out. The whole cinema was in histericks the whole way through.
